Memorial Gardens update...

In addition to getting the stream in the Peace Garden flowing once again, it was great to install the replacement water feature in the Sensory Garden this week.

The new stone sphere was funded through a donation received last month following a photoshoot that took place in the gardens.

Unfortunately, the central fountain in the gardens stopped working yesterday and we are currently awaiting a replacement part. The good news is that it should be back up and running again next week.

Two steps forward and one step back... but we're getting there!

As part of The Big Help Out 2026, we've had a busy and productive week working alongside some fantastic local young people.

On Monday, Brownies and Guides from the 2nd Amersham-on-the-Hill Guide Unit took part in a litter pick of King George V Playing Field and the main retail thoroughfares in Amersham-on-the-Hill.

On Tuesday, pupils from Stony Dean School lent a hand at the Community Allotment, supporting ongoing work at this ever-developing community space.

This evening, Beavers from 2nd Amersham Common joined the Town Council team to create hanging baskets, which will soon be on display around the town.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved. These projects simply wouldn't be possible without the support of our community, and it's particularly encouraging to see so many young people willing to give up their time to make a positive difference.

Well done to all involved – a great community effort.

We were delighted to install the new replacement bees in the Platinum Jubilee Pollinator Bed on Sycamore Corner yesterday.

The bed, complete with the striking stainless steel and brass bees, aims to highlight the importance of bees for biodiversity and pollination. The display is underplanted with a mixture of shrubs and wildlife-friendly pollinators, a few of which we also added yesterday.

The Town Council worked in partnership with the leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group on this project, and we are thrilled with the refreshed display — especially seeing the bees gleam in this morning’s sunshine.
