UK holidaymakers on holiday outside the UK are less familiar with unsafe ATMS and more susceptible to scammers and card skimmers stealing bank details. Watch out for: dodgy-looking keyboards, cards being swallowed, hidden cameras (shield as you enter your pin), shoulder surfers behind you and cash machines in quiet locations.

If you ever receive a fake 'phishing' for details email that looks suspicious to you, stop, don't open the email or link in it and forward onto the National Cyber Security Centre by emailing: [email protected] ✅💻

You'll get an email reply back from NCSC showing they have logged your suspicious email report. As of May 2023, over 20million reports have been made to them, resulting in the removal of nearly 130,000 scams.
