Welman Way Park 🌳

It was great to meet with Trafford Amey to discuss their plans for the park. We have requested further information on the proposed timescale and costs. They also raised the issue of the travellers’ horse having eaten the flooring!
Nick will keep you updated and get back to you as soon as he knows more.

Mr Rand MP says Labour is putting the brakes on “rip-off parking charges”. Perhaps he should have a word with his Labour colleagues at Trafford Council.

Their latest budget proposals include longer on-street charging hours, Sunday car park charges, charging from 8am to 8pm and paid parking at Thorley Lane.

Protection from unfair private parking penalties is welcome. But that won’t stop residents paying more to park under Labour’s local proposals.

Our shops, cafés and restaurants need support. Making visits more expensive risks driving customers away.

Connor, will you stand up for local residents and businesses and oppose these proposed charges?

Have Your Say: Trafford Labour's Budget Proposals

Council tax, parking charges, potholes and school places — we want to hear your views.

Trafford Council is proposing another 4.99% council tax increase for 2027/28, alongside changes to parking charges, including on-street, evenings and Sundays. Its draft budget still identifies an ÂŁ8.47 million funding gap.

This policy will directly hit and possibly other town centres.

Tell Nick what you think. The survey takes approximately two minutes.

"The delusion is off the scale. They banned women for thinking that men are not in fact women. They banned a list of everyday words (mothers, fathers) from being uttered by members. They even banned journalists from being present at the actual vote on Israel.

đźš“ COMMUNITY SPEED WATCH IS COMING TO Altrincham đźš“

Speeding is something residents regularly raise with us, so I’m pleased to see Greater Manchester Police launching a new Community Speed Watch scheme locally.

The first approved locations within Altrincham Ward are:

📍 St Margaret’s Road
📍 Groby Road
📍 Oldfield Road

GMP is now looking for LOCAL VOLUNTEERS to help get the scheme up and running.

Volunteers will receive training and work in small teams using speed detection equipment to monitor vehicles in areas where speeding has been identified as a concern. Details of vehicles travelling above the speed limit can then be passed to the police for appropriate follow-up.

Importantly, this is only the beginning. GMP intends to expand the scheme into more locations if there is enough community support and volunteers come forward.

🚗💨 If speeding is something you’re concerned about in Altruncham, this is a practical opportunity to get involved and help make our roads safer.

👉 Search the GMP vacancies page for "Community Speed Watch Trafford” – Ref: 1894221

Please share with anyone who might be interested in volunteering.
