Rising from a hillside above the Aberdeenshire countryside, Craigievar’s unmistakable pink towers feel all the more remarkable in their secluded setting.

🏰 Step inside on an intimate guided tour and discover a castle that remained a family home until the 1960s. With no artificial lighting above the ground floor, its atmospheric rooms are seen in shifting natural light, much as generations of the Forbes family experienced them. Original collections, ornate plasterwork and centuries of stories fill the castle, from the great hall to its winding turret stairs.

🕙 The castle and kiosk are open Friday to Monday until 28 September, then on Saturdays and Sundays until 25 October. We close over winter due to light restrictions and our rural location.

👉 Tour places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no advance booking. Please check the website before travelling and arrive early to secure your place.

📢 Due to a private function in the castle on Tuesday 18 August, there will be no tours after 12pm.

The shop will close at 2pm but the kiosk will remain open for refreshments. The grounds will be open but please note that the castle will be closed.
