Our Story
The Grenadier Guards are recruiting now, check out what we get up too and if you want to join get in touch. In the last 10 years the Grenadier Guards have served with distinction in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, South Sundan and four tours of Afghanistan. This makes us one of the most operationally experienced Regiment in the British army. When not deployed on operations The 1st Battalion, the Grenadier Guards enjoys a diverse training program from jungle warfare in Brunei to live firing on the Falkland’s Islands. Our soldiers have the opportunity to see the world and hone their military skills. Sports and adventurous training develop our soldiers’ team work and courage; from parachuting in Germany, skiing in France, scuba diving in the Red Sea and football tours in Monaco. Guarding the Royal Palaces, our soldiers, known as Guardsmen, are acknowledged around the world for their discipline and professionalism, instantly recognisable in the red tunics and bear skins only worn by the Household Division.
