We are delighted to announce that Walid Abdo has signed as the new Army Men’s coach. Walid brings a wealth of experience to the team and we are very excited to work with him.

Walid has coached Cardiff & Met for the last 18 seasons during which time he has taken them from the West League to competitors in the England Hockey Premier. To do this he used his considerable tactical, people and leadership skills to build a formidable hockey program. Walid now coaches Reading ladies who are also in the premier league. His other coaching experiences include numerous Wales age group teams. Before coaching, Walid himself played international and premier league hockey. Walid is a stalwart of the game and we can’t wait to work with him to build our hockey program and bring the same consistent success to Army Hockey.

The UKAF Tri Service Cup was held recently at RAF Halton where Winners of the Unit Cup for each service compete to be Tri service Champs. RAF Benson retained the Cup winning both of their matches convincingly.
Tournament Results
• RAF Benson 7–1 8 Training Battalion REME
• 8 Training Battalion REME 5–2 HMS Nelson
• RAF Benson 7–1 HMS Nelson
8 Bn REME represented the Army having won the Army Cup at the Inter Corps Tournament in April who finished as runners up after defeating HMS Nelson. Better luck next year.🏑🎉👏🏆

Our Army Hockey teams took a mixed bunch of Men, Women and U25s to Broxbourne Hockey and Cricket Club recently for a charity day of sport. There was a great game of Hockey between The Army and Broxbourne with Broxbourne coming out on top with a 4-3 Win. The day continued with Cricket, tennis and an evening of entertainment. Well done Broxbourne. 👏🎉🏑🎾🏏

What a fantastic game of hockey played today in Aldershot between the UKAF Women's Hockey team v Dutch AF. Great play and tactics throughout from both teams with the UKAF team coming out with the win 3-1. Player of the match was Dutch team member Mirthe. Thank you to Visiting GB Player Ellie Rayer for giving her support and presenting the prizes alongside UKAF President Brig Caroline Woodbridge-Lewin. 🏑🏆👏🎉

UKAF Women's Hockey team are playing the DUTCH AF team at the Aldershot Hockey pitch on June 04. We are delighted to have Ellie Rayer attend as a special guest and present awards. Ellie is an English international field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for England and Great Britain. She scored in GBs final match to secure a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Congratulations all round for the Mens UKAF Hockey team 👏🏆👏🏆🏑
The UKAF Men’s Hockey Team competed at the weekend in England’s longest running hockey competition, the County Championships, facing nine strong sides.

After pool victories over Shropshire and Yorkshire, and a narrow defeat to the Isle of Man, the team showed real resilience securing a dramatic last touch goal to draw with Nottinghamshire and finish second in their pool.

A hard fought semi final against the top team from the opposite pool, Warwickshire, saw UKAF edge a tense contest 3–2 to reach the final (potentially for the first time in memory).

The final against Lincolnshire was a cagey, attritional affair, ending 2–2 and going to penalty strokes. UKAF held their nerve, converting all five penalties, before Lincolnshire’s final effort was fired wide sealing a memorable championship victory.

An outstanding performance and a fantastic achievement for the team.

The squad was as per the list in the post below with the addition of Andrew Siemann (RAF) as coach, DAN CATTERMOLE (Army) as Manager and Harry Johnstone (Army) as Assistant Manager.
