Despite the long, dry summer we’ve had, there’s still plenty of colour to discover in the gardens at Coughton Court.

Our fantastic borders have shown just how resilient some plants can be! Drought-tolerant planting doesn’t mean sacrificing on colour or interest. Plants such as Lavender, Salvias, Verbena, Sedums, Achillea, Penstemon, Nepeta, Echinops, Perovskia and ornamental grasses cope well with periods of dry weather once established, while providing valuable nectar and pollen for pollinators.

Choosing plants suited to your garden’s conditions and watering deeply but less frequently can all help gardens become more resilient to increasingly dry summers.

What plants have thrived in your garden this summer? We'd love to hear in the comments!
