Wonderful news from Reform led Lancashire Council! But why is it news?? Surely it is the sole priority of all councils and all national governments to completely prioritise the people they serve...??🤔🤔

🚨 Reform-led Lancashire County Council is making history. It's the first ever local authority to withdraw from the government's refugee resettlement scheme.

This move prioritises local residents over new arrivals. It ends a policy Reform UK calls "shameful".

Reform UK Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf states: "These schemes have only served to prioritise recent arrivals and foreign nationals ahead of the British public." The council says it's about fairness for Lancastrians.

This is a direct challenge to the Labour government's approach to local services.

Lancashire County Council is putting British people first.

Good evening Runnymede Reform! What a day! Thank you to every single voter who turned out yesterday and brought about a fantastic result in 3 out of the 6 Runnymede Wards. Scott Kelly and Vinny Mitchell took Addlestone; Carl Mann was one winner in Ottershaw Longcross and Thorpe, and George Gladstone-New one of the Egham winners. Congratulations to these guys; they totally deserve their victories. Our huge commiserations and sincere thanks also go to Sam Newman, Dan Caruso, Miles Morris, Ian Betteridge and Graham Kimber - in some Wards the miss was very near and we know that as we go forward, the opportunities for Reform in Runnymede will increase further still. Onwards and upwards!!!💪💪💪👍👍

It's nearly here. On May 7th, Reform UK will give Kier Starmer his well-deserved bloody nose at the ballot box! Up and down the country, people who are sick to death of the mess created by establishment parties will signal their utter contempt and indeed despair at the abysmal and destructive leadership of this once great nation. Remember: here in Surrey, you have TWO VOTES! Put your crosses next to BOTH Reform candidates and send a message to cynical careerist politicians: we need change for the better!!

Getting so close now to Thursday, May 7th and an opportunity to change things. The old order is crumbling - nationally and locally. The establishment parties have shown time and time again that they do not have the interests of local people at heart. A new way is needed. A return to responsible, logical and genuinely fair leadership for hardworking, hard pressed people who are sick of seeing their council tax rise every year, with no noticeable improvements. Reform is that party. On May 7th, vote to change things for the better. This is the moment to ask Reform to step up, step in and revolutionise Surrey.
