Accrington has been awarded Government Pride in Place funding to support long‑term regeneration, investment and improvements across the town.
As this work gathers pace, we’re looking for experienced local leaders to help shape the next phase. The Pride in Place Board, established last year, is now seeking additional volunteers with strategic, commercial or community expertise to support long‑term investment, safer neighbourhoods, and improvements to Accrington’s environment and infrastructure.
We are looking for volunteers for the following positions:
👉Strategic Development, Investment and Future Opportunities Lead
👉Environment, Transport and Connectivity Lead
👉Community Safety Lead
If you care about Accrington’s future and want to play a meaningful role in its next chapter, you can find out more about the roles and how to apply here:

If you are interested, please contact [email protected] by 19 June 2026, briefly explaining what skills, knowledge or lived experience you could bring to fulfil one of the board vacancies.
We suggest keeping your expression of interest to no more than 400 words, or if you would prefer to share your interest in a different format, such as a short video, we are open to this too.
You can also pop down to Accrington Food Festival tomorrow (6 June) from 10am where current members of the Pride in Place Board will be available for informal discussions about the voluntary roles. You’ll find us in a marquee on Accrington Town Square.
