Fel rhan o’n Rhaglen Argyfwng Hinsawdd, mae Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru yn falch o gefnogi Undydd Blodeugerdd Amgylchedd Barddas – diwrnod o weithdai a sgyrsiau i feirdd i ddysgu am gymunedoli, trafod yr argyfwng hinsawdd trwy greadigrwydd a myfyrio ar y thema ‘Dychmygu’.

As part of our Climate Action Programme, the National Library of Wales is delighted to be supporting Barddas ’s Environmental Anthology event – a day of workshops and conversations for poets writing in Welsh to learn about communitisation, discuss the climate emergency through creativity and consider the theme of ‘Imagining’. This event will be held in Welsh.

Mae Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru, mewn partneriaeth â DB3 Group, wrth ei bodd yn cyhoeddi ei bod wedi ennill y wobr ôl-osod arloesol yng Ngwobrau Adeiladu Arbeingrwydd yng Nghymru.

Mae’r wobr yn cydnabod gwaith eithriadol y Llyfrgell wrth drawsnewid ei seilwaith adeiladu hanesyddol trwy raglen ôl-osod uchelgeisiol sy’n lleihau ei hôl troed carbon yn sylweddol, gan sicrhau dyfodol cynaliadwy i un o sefydliadau diwylliannol pwysicaf Cymru.

Mae'r gwelliannau allweddol yn cynnwys:
✅Pympiau gwres aer a daear
✅1,622 o baneli solar
✅System rheoli adeilad deallus

Un o elfennau allweddol llwyddiant y prosiect oedd y cydweithio cryf gyda chrefftwyr a chontractwyr lleol yn ardal Aberystwyth a mawr yw diolch y Llyfrgell i DB3 Group, Aber Heating Engineers Ltd, LEB Construction Limited, Trydan Will Davey Electrical Ltd a Arctic Glaze Ltd am y cydweithio manwl a llwyddiannus.

We are proud to share that the The National Library of Wales, in partnership with DB3, has won the Retrofit award at the Constructing Excellence in Wales Awards.

The award recognises the Library’s outstanding work in transforming its historic estate through an ambitious retrofit programme that significantly reduces its carbon footprint while securing a more sustainable future.

Key improvements include:
✅Air & ground source heat pumps
✅1,622 solar panels
✅Intelligent building management system

A key part of the project’s success has been the strong collaboration with local contractors and craftspeople in the Aberystwyth area and the Library is extremely thankful to DB3 , Aber Heating Egnineers, LEB Construction Ltd, Trydan Will Davey Electrical & AV and Arctic Glaze Ltd for the detailed and successful collaboration.

Mae'n bleser cyhoeddi bod Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru wedi cael ei dderbyn fel aelod o The Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).

Bydd yr aelodaeth yn darparu llwyfan i Lyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru gydweithio’n agos gyda llyfrgelloedd cenedlaethol eraill, gan helpu i lunio’r ffordd y caiff casgliadau Ewrop eu cadw a’u gwneud yn hygyrch. Bydd hefyd yn chwarae rhan annatod o gyflawni strategaeth 2025–2030 y Llyfrgell o gysylltu Cymru a’r Byd.

It is a pleasure to announce that the National Library of Wales has been accepted as a member of The Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).

A membership provides a platform for the National Library of Wales to collaborate closely with other national libraries, contribute to shared projects and help shape how Europe’s collections are preserved and made accessible. It also and plays an integral part in fulfilling the Library's 2025-2030 strategy of connecting Wales and the World.

Cynhaliodd e-sgol gwis ‘Pencampwyr y Pencampwyr’ 🏆 yn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru. Roedd hwn yn ddigwyddiad arbennig yn dilyn cyfres o weithdai ar-lein a gynhaliwyd drwy gydol tymor yr Hydref gan dîm Addysg y Llyfrgell ar y cyd ag e-sgol.

Cafwyd ymateb ardderchog i’r gweithdai eleni, gyda 161 o ysgolion wedi cofrestru ar gyfer y cwis a dros 4000 o blant yn cymryd rhan yn y ‘Cwis Cymreictod’, lle'r oedd dysgwyr yn ateb cwestiynau yn seiliedig ar eitemau o gasgliadau’r Llyfrgell.

Yn ystod y rownd derfynol, cafodd y disgyblion gyfle i ymweld â’r Llyfrgell a chymryd rhan mewn diwrnod llawn cyffro a hwyl. Yn y bore, fe aethant ar daith o amgylch yr adeilad, gan gasglu gwybodaeth a fyddai’n ddefnyddiol ar gyfer y cwis yn y prynhawn.

The e-sgol held a 'Champion of Champions' 🏆 quiz at the National Library of Wales. This was a special event following a series of online workshops held throughout the Autumn term by the Library's Education team in conjunction with e-sgol.

There was an excellent response to the workshops this year, with 161 schools registered for the quiz and over 4000 children taking part in the 'Cymreictod Quiz', where learners answered questions based on items from the Library's collections.

During the final round, the pupils had the opportunity to visit the Library and take part in a day full of excitement and fun. In the morning, they went on a tour around the building, gathering information that would be useful for the quiz in the afternoon.
