Today I had the pleasure of meeting dosbarth Waldo Williams at Holy Name School.
There is now a new addition to the heritage trail, a plaque remembering Waldo Williams when he taught at Holy Name School.

A big thank you to Liam from Abersign for the design and the placement.

It is by the Leisure centre entrance, easily viewable!

Some of the comments on here are absolutely revolting. I know most if not all of the crew in Fishguard RNLI.
They, like the NHS staff, Police, Ambulance, Fire and other public services do not distinguish on your status to stay here. They act to save life, whoever that maybe.

A dramatic Fishguard RNLI rescue is to feature on national television later this month – marking the first time in a decade that a full rescue involving the station has appeared on the BBC’s Saving Lives at Sea.

The episode will follow husband-and-wife volunteer crew members Ced and Jess, together with RNLI relief coxswain Pete from New Quay, as they recall a rescue which unfolded as daylight faded in late 2024.

Fishguard’s lifeboats have previously been spotted in opening sequences and cutaway shots, but the station says this will be the first time in 10 years and 11 series that viewers will see its crew in action during a featured rescue.

The programme will air on BBC Two at 8pm on Tuesday, September 22, and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

Fishguard RNLI said it was “delighted” to see the station and its volunteers featured in the hugely popular series.

New grant options for Pembrokeshire businesses announced

Pembrokeshire County Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new range of grant support designed to help local businesses grow, invest, reduce carbon emissions and contribute to the regeneration of Pembrokeshire’s town centres.

Delivered in partnership with the UK Government and Welsh Government, the funding packages provide a range of opportunities for businesses, property owners and town centre projects across the County.

Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, Cllr Paul Miller said: “The launch of these schemes represents a significant opportunity for businesses and communities across Pembrokeshire to access financial support for investment, growth and regeneration.

“Whether you are starting a new business, planning to expand, looking to improve a commercial property, investing in your town centre or taking steps to reduce your carbon emissions, there may be funding available to support your plans.

“We are committed to supporting Pembrokeshire businesses and creating thriving, resilient and vibrant communities across the county.”

Pembrokeshire Streetscape Paint Scheme – up to £4,999
Support is available to help improve the appearance of properties and contribute to attractive, vibrant town centres.

Mae Cyngor Sir Penfro yn falch o gyhoeddi lansio ystod newydd o gymorth grant sydd wedi'i gynllunio i helpu busnesau lleol i dyfu, buddsoddi, lleihau allyriadau carbon a chyfrannu at adfywio canol trefi Sir Benfro.

Wedi'u cyflwyno mewn partneriaeth â Llywodraeth y DU a Llywodraeth Cymru, mae'r pecynnau cyllido yn darparu ystod o gyfleoedd i fusnesau, perchnogion eiddo a phrosiectau canol trefi ledled y Sir.

🚨 APPEAL 🚨

We are appealing for witnesses following an incident of burglary which took place at the Hot Chilli restaurant on High Street, Fishguard.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 11.30pm on Monday (7/9) and 12.30pm on Tuesday (8/9), and £400 cash was reported to have been taken from the till.
