It is important to remember that the human rights baseline for Israel is genocide and decades of illegal occupation.

This video is an important reflection, and v relevant to our last post.

Join us to stand in solidarity with Palestinians at our weekly Gathering for Gaza. This week our focus is pinkwashing. Not sure what pinkwashing is? Read below...

📆 Saturday June 27th
🕥 11am-12.30pm
📍 Opposite Waterstones, Abergavenny
☕️ Trinity Hall after the gathering

Pinkwashing is a propaganda strategy used by the Israeli government. It cynically exploits concern for LGBTQIA+ rights to foster a false image of tolerance and equal rights to conceal its system of colonialism and apartheid over Palestinians.

For example, Israel profits from marketing Tel Aviv as a prime destination for international q***r tourists, rendering invisible Israel's violence against LGBTQIA+ Palestinians. Israel's regime of occupation and apartheid does not spare q***r Palestinians, who are specifically
targeted by Israeli government agencies with surveillance and threats.

Palestinian q***r organisations are resisting Israel's violence daily, and are among the vast majority of Palestinians calling for a boycott of Israel until their fundamental rights are respected.

LGBTQIA+ people have a proud history of
standing against oppression and injustice.
Q***r people across the world have listened to the Palestinian call for solidarity and are refusing to allow Israel's attempts to pinkwash its apartheid regime go unchallenged.

More and more q***r artists are refusing to perform in apartheid Israel, and pride parades have been convinced to end sponsorship deals with corporations complicit in Israeli apartheid.

None of us are free until all of us are free.

Q***r liberation means standing
against apartheid.

Thanks to all who attended our weekly Gathering for Gaza yesterday. Unfortunately the heavy rain put paid to photos, but that just gives us an opportunity to catch up on photos and videos from our successful 'Don't Buy Apartheid' day of action! Last Saturday we marched peacefully through town and carried out a bridge banner drop. We're grateful to all who were a part of this action.

Thanks also to the kind person who gifted several cans of - a brilliant company that donates 100% of all profits to humanitarian aid in Gaza.

Share below if you know of any shops in Abergavenny that stock boycott friendly items!

Join us in Abergavenny this Saturday as we gather to commemorate the Naksa.

📆 Saturday June 6th
🕥 11am-12.30pm
📍 Opposite Waterstones, Abergavenny

It has been 59 years since the The Six-Day War of June 1967, which is often referred to as the Naksa or "setback" in Arabic.

The Naksa resulted in Israeli forces seizing (and illegally occupying) the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Gaza Strip from Egypt. This effectively placed 100% of historic Palestine under Israeli control.

The Naksa led to the mass displacement of an estimated 300,000 to 430,000 Palestinians, roughly half of whom were already refugees from the 1948 Nakba.
