Calling all our Creative Community Groups!!

Fantastic grant funding opportunity for creative projects from the Hugo Burge Foundation.

Hugo Burge Foundation Invites Grant Applications for Arts and Culture Projects (UK)

The Hugo Burge Foundation has announced that its 2026 Grant Programme is now open for applications.

The aim of the Hugo Burge Foundation is to nurture and support creativity in individuals and communities across the UK. It does this through arts funding, residencies, and education, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for people, including young people, to engage in creative activity

The Foundation offers support across three strands:

- Creative Education
- Creative Communities
- Creative Individuals

The programme is designed to widen access to creative opportunities and back both artistic development and community participation. Funding available in 2026 includes:

- £100,000 for Creative Education, with grants up to £15,000;
- £150,000 for Creative Communities, with grants up to £15,000;
- £50,000 for Creative Individuals, with grants up to £5,000.

Eligible applicants vary by strand.

Creative Education is open to schools, local authorities, charities, community groups, museums, educational institutions and arts organisations supporting people aged 0 to 29.

Creative Communities is for organisations, festivals, fairs and community groups delivering cultural or creative initiatives in the UK, with a preference for ongoing organisational work rather than one-off projects.

Creative Individuals is open to UK-based artists and creatives working alone or with one collaborator.

Funding can support projects such as creative workshops for children and young people, school-based arts programmes, community festivals and events, artist-led participation, training, research and development, materials, production costs, exhibitions, museum-based creative activity and initiatives that widen access to arts and culture

A limited number of multi-year grants of up to 3 years are also available, and an access support fund will help applicants who need assistance with their applications.

Applications will close on 31 July 2026.

🚗⚡ A New Electric Vehicle Car Club Has Arrived in Abergavenny!

Residents can now access affordable, zero-emission transport without the costs and responsibilities of owning a car, thanks to the launch of a new electric vehicle car club at Fairfield Car Park.

Operated by TrydaNi, a community-owned car-sharing service, the scheme allows members to book a Kia Niro EV whenever they need it, paying only for the time and mileage used.

The initiative has been brought to Abergavenny through collaboration between Greener Abergavenny, Abergavenny Town Council, Monmouthshire County Council and TrydaNi, helping to provide a more sustainable transport option for local people.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Gareth Wilde said: "This is an ethical initiative that uses technology to provide shared resources in a sustainable way. We hope it will help reduce the number of vehicles on our roads while giving residents access to affordable and environmentally friendly transport."

Membership is free, and users can also access TrydaNi vehicles at locations across Wales.

Grants Available for Small Charities Supporting Disadvantaged People (England & Wales)

The Yapp Charitable Trust is making funding available to support the core costs of small registered charities working with some of the most disadvantaged and marginalised people in England and Wales.

The Trust funds work that focuses on one of their priority groups:

- elderly people
- children & young people
- mental health, disability & learning difficulties
- people overcoming addiction, abuse, offending or social disadvantage
- educational disadvantage

Grants of up to £3,000 per year for up to three years are available to support ongoing core costs and regular service delivery rather than new projects.

To be eligible, organisations must have been operating for at least three years and have an annual income of less than £50,000.

Priority will be given to:

- work that is unattractive to the general public or unpopular with other funders
- services that help to improve the lives of marginalised, disadvantaged or isolated people
- applicants that can demonstrate an effective use of volunteers
- applicants that can demonstrate (where feasible) an element of self-sustainability by charging subscriptions/fees to service users

Applications can be made at any time. Trustees meet three times a year to review applications. Decisions can take up to five months.
