Creative Aberdeenshire

Creative Aberdeenshire Creative opportunities, news and stories from Aberdeenshire and beyond. This is the page for the Aberdeenshire Council Arts Team.

We work to make the arts part of the fabric of life in Aberdeenshire, to create rich and stimulating arts experiences for the people and communities, in schools, in our village halls, in the streets. We believe participation in the arts enriches our lives as individuals and as communities.

This workshop is for anyone who sings. In the shower - in the car - to your children at night - in private - while working. Anyone who sings or would like to sing, but has never felt ‘good enough’ to sing with others.

Come along to raise your voice with other bad singers in beautifully out-of-tune songs, chants and vocal exercises. The workshop will be led by enthusiastic amateur singer and artist-in-residence, Rah Naqvi, who will lead us through simple and fun exercises exploring the potentials of singing badly and singing radically for creating connection, telling our own stories and building solidarity.

Key information:

→ Unprofessional singing workshop
→ Thursday 18 June, 6 - 8pm
→ Taking place in Square Deal community hub (22 The Square, Huntly)
→ No skills required, just enthusiasm, willingness to experiment and have fun
→ Refreshments and all materials are provided

Please let us know if you are coming along! Head over to our website to reserve a spot, and to read the full event details, including access information: https://www.deveron-projects.com/events/singing-badly-singing-radically-180626
