The spectrum of possible missions for Eurocorps covers all types of operations: disaster relief, humanitarian aid, security assistance, low intensity conflicts, peace keeping, medium intensity conflicts, peace restoring and enforcing up to high intensity conflicts. The Eurocorps command posts are capable of commanding multiple battalions, brigades, divisions and army corps level troops. These capa
cities are available for the security and defense needs of the European Union, NATO, the UN, the OSCE or the framework nations. The founding fathers intention was realized as Eurocorps was available for crisis response operations. The following years Eurocorps' presence at missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Afghanistan have proven the operational qualities of this multinational unit. NATO evaluated Eurocorps as an excellent headquarters capable of mastering difficult missions. All these missions make of Eurocorps one of the most deployed headquarters in Europe. The troop contribution nations are Eurocorps' framework nations. The contribution of the framework nations will always depend on the specific needs of the mission. The units foreseen under Eurocorps command are earmarked but stay in their respective country. However they train together with HQ Eurocorps. After a transfer of authority they can be placed under operational command in case of an engagement.
