Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris ပြပွဲသည် ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝန်းရှိ အဝတ်အထည်နှင့် ဖက်ရှင် ထုတ်ကုန် ဝယ်ယူသူများနှင့် ထုတ်လုပ်သူများကို တစ်နေရာတည်းတွင် စုံလင်စွာ တွေ့ဆုံဝယ်ယူနိုင် ရန် ချိတ်ဆက်ပေးသည့် နိုင်ငံတကာပြပွဲတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး တစ်နှစ်လျင် (၂)ကြိမ် ကျင်းပလေ့ရှိပါသည်။ အထူးသဖြင့် ဥရောပမှ အဝတ်အထည်နှင့် ဖက်ရှင်လုပ်ငန်းများနှင့် အာရှမှ အဝတ်အထည် ထုတ်လုပ် သူများ၊ အထည်အလိပ်လုပ်ငန်းများအကြား တွေ့ဆုံဈေးကွက်ရှာဖွေပေးခြင်းလည်း ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ယခုနှစ်ကျင်းပသည့် Weaving the Future တွင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအပါအဝင် နိုင်ငံပေါင်း ၃၅ နိုင်ငံမှ လုပ်ငန်းရှင်ပေါင်း ၁၃၀၀ ခန့် ပါဝင်ပြသခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရှိရပါသည်။

Myanmar Chargé d'Affaires / Ambassador Visits "Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris" Exhibition to Encourage Participating Myanmar Businesses (Paris, 2 September 2026)
The international textile, garment and fashion exhibition “Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris – Weaving the Future”, organized by Messe Frankfurt France S.A.S., was held at the Paris Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in Paris, France, from 31 August to 2 September 2026. U Kyaw Nyun Oo, Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of the Embassy of Myanmar in Paris, visited the exhibition and observed the displays of textile, garment and fashion products presented by participating companies from various countries.
During the visit, the Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of Myanmar was received by Mr. Frédéric Bougeard, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt France S.A.S. and they exchanged views on the exhibition and business opportunities in the textile and fashion sector. Subsequently, Mr. Nicolas Gouguenheim, Exhibition Director, accompanied the Ambassador and Embassy officials on a tour of the exhibition.
Myanmar was represented at the exhibition by a group of entrepreneurs led by U Kyin Tun, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) and Managing Director of Newest Garment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., together with Shwe Sakar Co., Ltd., Lat War Co., Ltd., and Bhi Lat Pyan Cotton House, and Manussa Fashion. The Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador met with the participating Myanmar business representatives and expressed his support for their participation in the exhibition.
Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, which held twice a year, is an international exhibition that brings buyers and manufacturers of garments and fashion products from around the world, and providing a platform for them to meet, and explore a wide range of products in one place. In particular, it provides an important opportunity to connect European garment and fashion businesses with garment manufacturers and textile companies from Asia, facilitating business contacts and market opportunities. This year’s “Weaving the Future” edition features approximately 1,300 exhibitors from 35 countries including Myanmar.

Chargé d’Affaires / Ambassador of Myanmar hosts Dinner for Myanmar Team Competing in the Esports World Cup 2026 PUBG Mobile Tournament

The PUBG Mobile tournament, a featured event of the Esports World Cup 2026, is currently being held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, from 6 to 16 August 2026. On this occasion, U Kyaw Nyun Oo, the Chargé d’Affaires/ Ambassador of the Myanmar Embassy in Paris, met the President and Vice President of the Myanmar Esports Federation, alongside the members of the Yangon Galacticos (YG) Esports team, who are representing Myanmar as the reigning 2025 PUBG Mobile World Champions and then hosted a dinner at his residence on 12 August 2026.
The Embassy is proud to welcome and meet with Myanmar's talented youth from the Yangon Galacticos (YG) team here in Paris. Competing on such a prestigious global stage not only elevates Myanmar’s national image internationally but also showcases the country’s rising potential and the bright future of its youth on the grandest global platforms.

Myanmar's Position on FATF Public Statement Issued on 19 June 2026

1. On 19 June 2026, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issued a Public Statement regarding Myanmar.
2. Myanmar has observed from the Public Statement that the FATF notes that fraud and cyberscam activities in Myanmar remain extensive and present significant illicit finance risks, despite some steps Myanmar has taken to tackle fraud and cyberscam operations, including the formation of a national committee to combat online fraud and gambling and strengthening regional and international cooperation. The FATF calls on Myanmar to take appropriate action to address the illicit finance risks associated with fraud and cyberscam threats and will continue to work with Myanmar in this regard. In tackling these illicit finance threats, Myanmar should have due regard for the victims of trafficking by criminal groups.
3. Myanmar fully recognizes that online scams and cyber-enabled frauds not only facilitate money laundering but also undermine the integrity of the financial system, serve as regional security threats and have adverse impacts on countries within the region and beyond.
4. The Central Bank of Myanmar, through Notification 9/2020 dated 15 May 2020, has prohibited the use of cryptocurrencies as legal tender. To date, investigations have not identified evidence that cryptocurrencies generated from online scams have been diverted into Myanmar’s regulated financial system. As many illicit financial transactions are conducted through financial systems outside Myanmar, Myanmar considers that effectively mitigating regional financial risks requires enhanced regional and international cooperation.
5. While the Government of Myanmar has designated the prevention and suppression of online scams and online gambling as a national duty, Myanmar has been actively implementing a range of measures. These measures include the establishment of the Central Supervisory Committee for the Prevention and Suppression of Online Scams and Online Gambling; efforts to establish the National Anti-Scam Centre (ASC); the proceeding to enact an Anti-Online Scam Law; the enactment of a new Anti-Money Laundering Law in 2026; extensive investigations and prosecutions of individuals involved in online scams and cyber-enabled fraud; the repatriation of victims of online scams, including foreign nationals identified during law enforcement operations, to their respective countries; the deportation of foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally to the relevant countries, following due process under domestic law and on the basis of humanitarian considerations and friendly relations between states; the destruction of buildings, infrastructure, and electronic devices used in online scam centres to prevent their re-establishment; and active bilateral, regional, and international cooperation with neighbouring countries and international partners. These efforts have also been communicated through official public announcements and presented at regional and international meetings.
6. Myanmar also continues to strengthen capacity-building and information-sharing by enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms, strengthening cooperation among law enforcement agencies, implementing training programmes, and reinforcing operational coordination and collaboration among the relevant authorities.
7. Furthermore, Myanmar remains firmly committed to implementing the FATF Recommendations to address the remaining Action Items under the FATF process. Since its designation as a High-Risk Jurisdiction Subject to a Call for Action in October 2022, Myanmar has submitted its 17th Progress Report to the Asia-Pacific Joint Group (APJG). Myanmar has actively participated in APJG face-to-face meetings and FATF Plenary meetings. Of the 15 Action Items, Myanmar has addressed 13, with 2 Action Items remaining under the Action Plan. These developments demonstrate that Myanmar’s High-Level authorities continue to show strong political commitment and determination to address the remaining Action Items.
8. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) report, “Inflection Point: Global Implications of Scam Centres, Underground Banking and Illicit Online Marketplaces in South-East Asia (April 2025)”, online scam networks have expanded by exploiting inaccessible areas, territories under the control of non-State armed groups, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and other vulnerable border areas across South-East Asia. The report further notes that these criminal operations have spread beyond the Mekong region to Africa, South America, the Pacific, and the Middle East. Myanmar recognizes that the online scam activities occurring within its territory are part of broader transnational online scam networks operating across multiple regions.
9. In conclusion, Myanmar reaffirms its unwavering commitment to combatting money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, online scams, and cyber-enabled fraud. Myanmar will continue to strengthen its legal, regulatory, and operational framework in compliance with the FATF Recommendations and international standards, enhance its operational capabilities, and deepen international cooperation. Myanmar respectfully requests that its continued efforts, the progress it has achieved, and the strong political commitment it has consistently demonstrated be duly taken into consideration in future assessments and discussions.
10. Furthermore, Myanmar calls upon the international community to continue providing technical assistance, information-sharing, and capacity-building support to all countries affected by transnational organized criminal groups, on the basis that no single country can effectively address these challenges alone, consistent with the principle of shared responsibility.
11. Myanmar will continue to cooperate closely with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, and other relevant international partners, to safeguard the integrity of the international financial system and effectively combat transnational financial crime.

Chargé d'Affaires/Ambassador attends the Mobile Legends Tournaments at Esports World Cup 2026

The Mobile Legends tournament, a feature event of the Esports World Cup 2026, took place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, from 23 July to 1 August 2026. The Chargé d’Affaires / Ambassador of the Myanmar Embassy in Paris, U Kyaw Nyun Oo, along with embassy staff and the President and Vice President of the Myanmar Esports Federation, attended the Semi-Final and Grand Final to show their support. Moreover, he visited the practice rooms of the participation teams to observe their preparation and warmly greeted the players of YG.
In the Mobile Legends tournament, Myanmar’s representative team, Yangon Galacticos (YG), competed at their best and won through various stages to reach the Grand Final on 1 August 2026. Facing Russia’s Team Spirit (TS), Myanmar’s YG team secured 1st Runner-up title, bringing us great pride and joy. Following the Grand Final, the Myanmar Embassy in Paris hosted a dinner to celebrate the success of the Myanmar team, YG.
The Esports World Cup 2026 is currently underway. The PUBG MOBILE tournament, which marks the next stage of the event, will begin on 6 August. Notably, 2025 Championship Yangon Galacticos (YG) will enter the tournament to defend their title.

Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of Myanmar in Paris Attends UNESCO’s Transforming Education Summit +4 on System Transformation and Resilience for SDG4

The Transforming Education Summit +4 on System Transformation and Resilience for SDG4 was held on 10 July 2026 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. A delegation led by U Kyaw Nyun Oo, Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, attended the event. The Summit brought together the President of South Africa, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Education Ministers and Deputy Ministers from 37 countries, high-level representatives, and officials from UN agencies, international organizations and civil society groups, and youth representatives.
The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Khaled El-Enany, Director-General of UNESCO, Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa. Following the opening session, panel discussions on key thematic areas, including education in crisis situations, inclusive digital transformation, the teaching profession, environmental and climate change education, inclusion and gender equality, and skills, employability, and lifelong learning led by Education Ministers and Deputy Ministers from various countries were held.
The Summit served as a crucial platform gathering leaders, education ministers, and partners to review progress initiated since the United Nations Transforming Education Summit (TES) in 2022, and to accelerate actions toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) and beyond 2030.
