🌱NATAE & DIONYSUS to Co-Host Policy Conference on Agroecological Transition in the Mediterranean:
"How can science, policy, and practice work together to accelerate the agroecological transition across the Mediterranean?"
📅29–30 September 2026
📍 CIHEAM Montpellier, France

The two-day conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean and beyond to discuss:

- Multi-stakeholder approaches to agroecology
- Assessment and scaling-up of Living Lab methodologies
- From action research to public policy
- Financing and institutional mechanisms for agroecological transition
- Food security and territorial economies

With contributions from institutions including CIHEAM Montpellier, DG-AGRI, OSS, AFD, AfDB, and national ministries and universities across the region, the conference will provide an important space for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and shaping the future of agroecology in the Mediterranean.

📌 Le projet , en collaboration avec le projet , organisera une conférence sur les politiques publiques intitulée “Quels mécanismes scientifiques et politiques pour l’avenir de la transition agroécologique dans la région méditerranéenne ? Transdisciplinarité, évaluations et mise à l’échelle”, les 📅 29 et 30 septembre 2026 📍au CIHEAM de Montpellier.

🔸Pendant deux jours, la conférence réunira des chercheurs, des décideurs politiques et des professionnels de toute la région méditerranéenne et au-delà, notamment de Tunisie, d’Algérie, du Maroc, d’Égypte, la Mauritanie, la France et l’Allemagne, afin de débattre des approches multipartites en matière d’agroécologie, de l’efficacité et de la mise à l’échelle des méthodologies des "Living Labs", ainsi que des mécanismes de financement et des dispositifs institutionnels nécessaires pour soutenir la transition agroécologique à grande échelle.

🔸Le programme comprend 7 sessions thématiques abordant des sujets tels que la sécurité alimentaire, les économies territoriales et la transition de la recherche-action vers les politiques publiques, avec la participation d’institutions telles que le CIHEAM-IAMM, la DG-AGRI, l’OSS, l’AFD, la BAD, ainsi que de nombreux ministères et universités nationaux de toute la région.

🌱 The Role of Living Labs in the Agroecological Transition in Africa

How can Living Labs accelerate the transition towards more sustainable and resilient agri-food systems across Africa? 🌍

In Early October 2026, the Horizon Europe sister projects NATAE, CANALLS, CIRAWA and Praectice will come together for a joint webinar to share experiences and lessons from their Living Labs across diverse African contexts.

The webinar will explore:
🔹 Stakeholder engagement and co-creation
🔹 Living Lab governance and facilitation
🔹 Challenges and solutions from implementation
🔹 Key achievements and lessons learned
🔹 Recommendations for future Living Lab initiatives

The webinar will also provide a space for researchers, farmers' organisations, NGOs, policymakers, development practitioners, and other stakeholders to exchange perspectives and strengthen collaboration around agroecological transition.

🤝 Four projects. Diverse contexts. One shared ambition: accelerating agroecological transition through collaboration and participatory innovation.
