Alumni Spotlight: Meet Michael Kohlleppel, a Medina Valley HS graduate from the Class of 2005 who played football, basketball and participated in FFA. Michael is currently a San Antonio Police Officer serving with the East SAFFE Unit.
After graduation, Michael attended Palo Alto College before entering the San Antonio Police Academy in 2008. He graduated in 2009 and began his career with the San Antonio Police Department. During his time with SAPD, he has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, and now works in a community-focused unit that helps connect residents with resources and builds positive relationships throughout San Antonio.
Michael especially enjoys attending school events such as Career Days and Bike Rodeos. One of his favorite experiences has been bringing bicycle programs to students at Lacoste Elementary, where all three of his children have attended.
“What I enjoy the most by being on this unit is being able to give back to the community and getting to see how happy we make the kids with the school event that we attend.”
Today, Michael and his wife of 14 years are raising their three children in the same community where he grew up. He says it's a great feeling to watch his children attend the same Medina Valley schools that helped shape his own journey.
