This Saturday, 7th March, was International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Police Officers. Led by Interpol, law enforcement agencies worldwide marked the day by moments of silence, flags at half mast and police buildings illuminated in blue.
Members of our team were proud to represent UK policing by providing a small team of regular and volunteer police officers at the NCA headquarters. We held a short service to mark the sacrifice of police who have died in the line of duty. The service involved the dipping of the union flag, the laying of a blue wreath and a 2 minute silence signified by a traditional police whistle.
The day brought UK policing together with our international law enforcement partners, highlighting the strength of our global networks.
