On 27 May 2025, the Acting Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Dr. Dikoloti, visited the Haute Ecole de Joaillerie (HEJ) in Paris, where he was met by Mrs. Bernadette Pinet-Cuoq, Executive President of UFBJOP and President of HEJ. During the visit, the Minister expressed Botswana’s appreciation and the desire to strengthen the collaboration between HEJ and Oodi College of applied Arts and Technology (OCAAT).
This exciting initiative supports Botswana’s national ambition to grow value chains in the minerals and creative industries. By fostering skills and knowledge transfer in jewellery design and manufacturing, it marks a significant step forward in capacity building. HEJ, a premier institution whose programmes are endorsed by iconic fashion houses including Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Gucci and Hermès, will welcome the first cohort of Botswana students in 2025.
The Minister had the opportunity to visit the Botswana Embassy in Paris, where he met with the staff and engaged in meaningful conversations. He conveyed the vision and priorities of the new administration, offering words of encouragement and reaffirming that the welfare of the Embassies’ personnel remains a top priority. He also emphasized the importance of delivering high-quality service, reminding the team that Batswana expect tangible returns on their investment through dedicated and effective representation.
