Learning by building! EURECOM's Multidisciplinary Project day
What happens when engineering students are asked to design an educational game from scratch during one semester?
At EURECOM, our first-year students take on the challenge with a hands-on project that transforms classroom knowledge into a real-world creation.
Working in teams, students design, develop, and present their own game, combining skills from a wide range of courses:
💻 Computer Programming, Database, AI
📻 Image/Sound Processing, Wireless Communication
🎨 Creativity and design thinking
🤝 Teamwork and project management
🎤 Communication and pitching skills
The semester culminates with the Project Day, in which each team presenting its project in front of an audience, simulating the kind of technical and business presentations they will encounter throughout their careers.
This initiative is inspired by project-based learning, an educational approach that places students at the center of the learning experience. By solving real challenges and building tangible outcomes, students strengthen both their technical expertise and their professional skills.
Beyond the learning experience, it also gives students a valuable project to showcase on their CVs and portfolios, helping them stand out when applying for internships and future job opportunities.
