Flood Alert – Important Information !

The Maine-et-Loire is currently under the highest level of alert due to extreme flooding. As our library is located in a designated flood zone, there is a significant risk of flooding.

We encourage you to check our website regularly for updates regarding opening hours and any potential closures.

Before visiting, please feel free to call the front desk at 02 41 24 97 07 to confirm that the library is open.

Stay informed about the ongoing situation by visiting the City of Angers official flood information page:

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we are able to spread our wings and offer English conversation groups outside of Angers. The newest addition to our outreach program - Saint Barthelemy d'Anjou !

Thank you to everyone who donated to our 2025 fundraising campaign!

We are delighted to say we received 17,402 € in donations and an unexpected but wonderful gift from Marilee Taussig, founder and owner of A Life in France (ALIFe), who donated 8,000 € to the library from her last program, pushing the total amount to 25,402 €.

We are so grateful to you, our members. We couldn't keep our community vibrant, alive, and growing without your generous support.

You can find out more about Marilee and ALIFe at findyourfrenchtown.com.

Happy New Year! 🥂

We are heartbroken to learn about the tragic shooting at the Austin Central Library in our sister city, Austin, Texas. While this appears to be an isolated event, we know the pain and fear from such a tragedy will stay with the community for a long time.

Our thoughts are with the library staff, visitors, and everyone in Austin who loves and depends on their library. Libraries are meant to be safe spaces—places for curiosity, learning, and connection—and we stand with our colleagues in Austin in their commitment to keeping them that way.

Thank you from the entire library team and its volunteers for our Fall BIG BIG BOOK SALE! 📚
