Did you know that majority of the essential items you see on supermarket shelves are imported and then processed or packaged right here in Fiji?
As an independent statutory body, operating with the full authority granted by Section 38 of the FCCC Act 2010, FCCC determines and sets regulated prices. We meticulously use comprehensive data, detailed cost structures, and thorough market assessments to establish these prices, ensuring fairness for consumers and traders.
For all price-controlled items, FCCC considers key factors such as:
-Procurement cost
-Foreign Exchange Fluctuations
-Freight and Distribution
-Packaging Costs
-Acceptable Profit Margins
All these are reviewed independently by FCCC to ensure you’re not overpaying, and traders stay viable.
