The New Zealand High Commission hosted a reception last night to welcome the 2026 New Zealandโ€“Fiji Business Council(NZFBC) Mission to Suva.

The delegation, led by NZFBC President Chandar Sen, is made up of 37 business people representing a range of industries from engineering to accounting and consulting. It is one of the largest NZ business missions to Fiji in recent times and reaffirms our two countriesโ€™ shared commitment to deepening economic cooperation and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

Turning up, meeting face to face, and building trust is how New Zealand and Fiji do business, and missions like this will help us reach the $2 billion annual two-way trade target set by our PMs.

Artists and practitioners from Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Fiji will come together in 2026 for a new Pacific arts residency, following a partnership between Creative New Zealand, Creative Australia, and the University of the South Pacific (USP) in Fiji.

Artists and practitioners from Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Fiji will come together in 2026 as part of a new partnership between Creative New Zealand, Creative Australia, and the University of the South Pacific's Oceania Centre.

The partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver the Oceania Pacific Arts Residency 2026, a pilot tri-nation programme hosted at the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies in Suva, Fiji.

The six-week residency will bring together one senior artist from each country, creating space to develop new work centred on climate change and its impact across the Pacific.

New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Greg Andrews met with VOU Dance (Fiji) Pte Ltd Director Sachiko Soro following the successful Fijian Flying Circus New Zealand Tour earlier this year.

The Fijian Flying Circus marked its first New Zealand tour, which saw 15 Fijian artists perform in Aotearoa, combining Pacific storytelling with contemporary circus.

The tour recorded multiple sold-out performances at the Wellington Fringe Festival and the highest single-day ticket sales at its largest outdoor venue.

Each performance concluded with a Fijiโ€“New Zealand singalong, connecting audiences through shared cultural experience and Kiwi music.
