On Friday, June 26, Ambassador Young-seup Kwon met with Mr. Hamish Young, the Representative of the UNICEF Pacific Joint Presence Office. 🇰🇷🤝🇺🇳

During the meeting, they reviewed the current partnership between Korea and UNICEF and discussed directions for future cooperation in the Pacific region. 🌊

On Monday, June 22, Ambassador Young-seup Kwon paid a courtesy call on Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Fiji.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed key areas of mutual interest. They also agreed to cooperate even more closely in the future, building upon what the two countries have achieved over the past 55 years since establishing diplomatic relations in 1971. 🤝🇰🇷🇫🇯

🤝 Deepening Korea-Fiji Partnership through Saemaul Undong! 🇫🇯🇰🇷

On Wednesday, June 17, H.E. Kwon Young-seup, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Fiji, attended the launch ceremony of the Second Phase of the Saemaul Undong (SMU) Pilot Village Project in Fiji.

In his remarks, Mr. Kwon extended his congratulations to the five newly selected Saemaul Undong pilot villages and highlighted that the Saemaul Undong project will serve as an important opportunity for Fiji’s rural development.

He further wished that the local residents from those selected villages who will soon participate in the training program in Korea will receive great inspiration during their stay.

The launch ceremony was attended by the Honorable Mosese Bulitavu, Minister of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, along with local residents from the project's target villages.

권영습 대사는 6.17.(수) 피지 새마을운동 시범마을 2차 사업 출범식에 참석하였습니다. 권 대사는 새마을운동 사업지로 새롭게 선정된 5개 마을에 축하 인사를 전하고, 새마을운동 사업이 피지 지역 발전의 중요한 계기가 되기를 바란다는 요지로 축사하였습니다. 또한 조만간 한국 초청 연수를 가는 주민들에게 한국에서 좋은 영감을 받아오기를 기원하였습니다. 이번 출범식에는 피지 농촌해양개발부 Mosese Bulitavu 장관과 사업 대상지 마을 주민 등이 참석하였습니다.

우리 대사관은 6.17(수) 피지대사관 재외국민투표관리위원회 위원 위촉장 전수식 및 제2차(최종) 재외국민투표관리위원회 회의를 개최하였습니다.

권영습 대사는 위원들에게 위촉장을 전수한 후, 그동안 재외국민투표관리위원회 위원들이 공정하고 원활한 재외투표 관리업무를 위해 적극적으로 협조해 준 데 대해 감사의 뜻을 전하며, 향후 실시될 재외선거에서도 피지 재외동포들의 소중한 참정권이 충실히 보장될 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 적극적인 협조를 당부하였습니다.
