Happening now in Adama:
MoA in collaboration with DRDIP and FAO Ethiopia is conducting a consultative workshop with relevant stakeholders to strengthen surveillance system through Laboratory reports into National Animal Disease Surveillance System and review of FAO GHSP work plan FY 2023.
HE Dr Fikru Regassa, State Minister and CVO Ethiopia instructs work direction.
Objectives of the consultative workshop are
To discuss and agree on regional Veterinary Laboratories regular submission of active diseases surveillance and outbreak investigation reports to AHI
To discuss on implementation status of ADNIS and DOVAR-2
To discuss on the challenges and provide way forward to improve animal disease surveillance (ADNIS/DOVAR/PDS/risk-based surveillance) and reporting
To discuss on Integration and joint planning of regional epidemiology and laboratory networks to conduct active surveillance and identify challenges
To establish line management and coordination procedures between federal and regional veterinary services and laboratories
To discuss and review FAO-ECTAD Ethiopia work plan FY 2024 and receive feedback comments from the beneficiary government sectors
Participants include MoA, NVI AHI, DRDIP, HEARD, Regional Animal Health Bureaus/Agency/Directorates, Regional Veterinary Laboratories, FAO, USA Aid, UK Aid, Swiss, EPHI, EWCA, and EIAR.
