“There’s no doubt that coast guard cooperation benefits every single citizen in Europe.” 🌊🇪🇺
At , our Executive Director highlighted how far European coast guard cooperation has come over the past years, from limited coordination to a strong operational framework between EU agencies and Member States.
In today’s geopolitical context, this cooperation matters more than ever. By working together, we mobilise expertise, share knowledge, and carry out joint operations and exercises at sea, pooling capabilities across the European maritime community.
At EFCA, cooperation with other EU actors is key. Through close collaboration with the European Maritime Safety Agency and Frontex , we strengthen our operational capacity: combining complementary tools and expertise, from aerial surveillance to satellite-based maritime awareness. 🛰️🚁
At the same time, coast guard authorities enhance coordination through continuous information exchange via dedicated platforms supporting real-time operations.
Much work still lies ahead, but the progress achieved by EU agencies and Member States clearly demonstrates the added value of European cooperation in addressing maritime challenges. ⚓
