In honor of Spanish Armed Forces Day, Base Naval de Rota opened its doors to the surrounding community to see static displays of various domains and personnel serving on the base.

Our Armada allies extended the honor to join in on the event to U.S. Naval Station Rota and its supported commands. U.S. forces were represented with displays by Naval Station Rota’s Fire Department and Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team Company, Europe (FASTEUR).

United by 250 years of history, the U.S. Navy and Armada continue to work side-by-side to increase interoperability and combined capabilities.

This week, we recognize those in our Public Works Department that keep the lights on, the water flowing, and maintain our infrastructure as part of National Public Works Week.

The Public Works team took the time to recognize a few all stars: Sergio Hading Chalamet Garcia for 35 years of service, Ed Zuelke for leading the environmental department, and Reynaldo "Ivan" Gallegos for winning Supervisor of the Quarter at his previous command.

Thank you for all you do in making Naval Station Rota the Navy’s premier forward-deployed power projection platform and installation.
