SCAM ALERT

If you get an email from DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) regarding a parking fine, etc. please check the address that it has been sent from. If the email address ends pro-master.com* it is a scam, and should be reported as such. Information has been checked and DGT do not send emails regarding violations and fines: you are informed by SMS on your mobile phone. It goes without saying that we should always be very careful when opening emails that are not from someone you know, and always check the address before proceeding. I worked as the Finance Officer for Trading Standards in Cardiff for a number of years and witnessed the trauma these emails can cause on many occasions. One elderly lady lost her entire savings because she shared her bank account details by answering such an email. If in doubt, delete it! If it's genuine and important they will contact you again.

To remove a suspicious email without opening it first highlight it by ticking the box on the left of the line containing the email in the list. Near the top left of the screen click on the small octagonal icon containing an exclamation mark. This will automatically remove the message to your Spam folder. Any further messages from that address will automatically be diverted to the Spam folder. At a later date you can also report messages in the Spam folder.
