It's official! 🗝

We are the proud owners, guardians, gate keepers and care takers of a beautiful old building in the village of Thornhill, Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It needs a lot of love breathed into its heart and soul, but it has great bones and plenty of rooms! 🏡

We hope to keep you updated with our progress and journey of renovation. ⚒️🥽🪚🔩🧹🗝🚪

We can't wait to be able to look after you all again one day in the not too distant future here in the picturesque and historic south west of Scotland. You'll see, as we post about the local area, that it has many similarities with our beloved Galicia. 🥰

Many of you will remember Johnny Hartigan, our resident anthropologist from Texas, who came to Quireza to study the wild horses over the Rapas fiestas. Well his book is officially released and on special offer!
We loved having John as our guest over the two summers we ran Casa Quireza.

Hey folks! Hola amigos!
We just found this awful recent review on our old Trip Advisor page from when we managed Casa Quireza back in 2015-2017, and happily hosted so many of you. Obviously, we sadly left the house and closed our business in February 2017 for reasons out of our control that many of you are aware of. This recent fatal review is obviously nothing to do with us - we will get in touch with Trip Advisor to have it moved to the owners’ account where it belongs. We are saddened to hear such an awful evaluation of a place that held so much potential and love in our hearts.
But we are moving forward with ideas and adventures of our own and we will be in touch with you all soon!

Spent some very precious time with our neighbours and friends in Quireza and Cerdedo last week. It was brilliant to be home, share a drink and hear all the news!
However it was extremely sad and gutting to see the abandoned Casa. After 2 years of hard work (where blood, sweat, tears and love were invested) we were utterly devastated to see the place locked up, unloved and overgrown. Such an unnecessary waste.
Quireza deserves better!
Yes, it's heartbreaking and deeply infuriating. But it's only bricks and mortar.
The friendships, laughs and memories we created in Quireza will endure forever, and remind us daily why we try.
We can't wait to see you all again. Hasta pronto Galicia, besos ###
