MAN ARRESTED AFTER COASTLINE CHASE IN LA ZENIA – KNIFE THREATS AND ASSAULT REPORTED

A serious incident unfolded yesterday along the Orihuela Costa coastline, beginning in La Zenia and ending with a police arrest in Cabo Roig (Cala Capitán) after a coordinated pursuit.

According to an official statement from Policía Local de Orihuela, the situation involved violence, threats with a knife, and a foot chase along the coast.

What Happened

Police report that the suspect:
• Allegedly attempted to extort a victim
• Threatened the victim with a knife
• Physically assaulted and injured the individual during the confrontation

The incident is believed to have stemmed from a private dispute, but quickly escalated into a dangerous situation in a public area.

The Chase

When police patrols moved in, the suspect fled on foot, triggering a pursuit along the coastline.

What followed was a coordinated response:
• Officers tracked the suspect along the coastal route
• Additional units moved into position to cut off escape routes from higher streets
• The area around Cala Capitán (Cabo Roig) was effectively sealed

With nowhere left to go, the suspect was surrounded and stopped.

Arrest and Outcome

Police confirmed:
• The suspect was restrained and arrested at the scene
• The knife used in the incident was seized
• The victim received medical assistance for injuries
• The suspect is now in judicial custody

Why This Matters

This incident highlights how quickly situations can escalate in otherwise busy and public areas like La Zenia and the surrounding coastline.

Knife-related threats combined with physical violence pose a serious risk to public safety, particularly in areas frequented by residents and tourists.

Final Note

Thanks to a rapid and coordinated police response, the situation was brought under control before further harm could occur.

However, incidents like this are a reminder:

Stay aware of your surroundings — even in places that feel safe.

NIGHT-TIME INTRUDERS IN LAS RAMBLAS: TWO MEN CAUGHT JUMPING WALLS AND CHECKING PROPERTIES

Residents in Las Ramblas and surrounding areas of Orihuela Costa are being urged to stay alert after a suspicious incident in the early hours of the morning.

At approximately 02:00 AM, two unidentified men were captured on a residential security camera jumping over walls and moving through private property, appearing to check access points and doors.

What Happened

According to the eyewitness report:
• The two men entered the property by climbing over perimeter walls
• They were seen moving deliberately through the grounds
• Their behaviour strongly suggests they were checking for entry opportunities

Both individuals were partially masked (hoods up), but their faces and general appearance are still somewhat visible on camera.

Captured on Camera

The footage shows:
• One individual wearing a light-coloured hoodie and cap, standing inside the property
• The second dressed in darker clothing, actively moving and scanning the area
• Both acting with purpose and coordination, not randomly wandering

This was not casual trespassing — it appears to be a targeted check of the property, likely to assess vulnerability.

Possible Intent

While no break-in has been confirmed in this specific incident, the behaviour is consistent with:
• Attempted burglary reconnaissance
• Testing access points for future entry
• Opportunistic targeting of properties during night hours

These types of actions are often a precursor to later break-ins.

Wider Concern

The fact that two individuals are involved suggests organised activity rather than a lone opportunist.

Given the location and timing, it raises concerns that other properties in the area may have been targeted the same night.

Advice to Residents

Residents in Las Ramblas and nearby areas should:
• Ensure doors and gates are securely locked, even at night
• Check that perimeter walls and entry points are properly secured
• Use motion lights or cameras where possible
• Report any suspicious activity immediately to:
• Guardia Civil
• Policía Local

Final Note

This incident is a reminder that even quiet residential areas are not immune.

If you recognise these individuals or notice similar behaviour, report it. Early reporting can prevent further incidents.

WARNING: KNOWN AGGRESSIVE OFFENDER BACK IN LA ZENIA – REPEATED SIGHTINGS AROUND ZENIA BOULEVARD

A man who has been repeatedly linked to aggressive behaviour, threats, and suspicious activity in the La Zenia / Playa Flamenca area has now been spotted again after several months of absence.

Residents should take this seriously.

A Familiar Face Returning

This individual is not new to the area. Over the past two years, he has been seen multiple times around Zenia Boulevard, particularly:
• In car parks and underground garages
• Moving between vehicles and appearing to check or attempt to open cars
• Lurking in busy areas where people are distracted

The photos currently circulating were taken over the past years — but recent sightings confirm he is back, wearing a similar outfit and carrying a distinctive backpack with a silver sleeping mat attached.

He is easily recognisable.

Aggressive and Confrontational

This is not just suspicious behaviour.

Multiple witnesses have seen him acting aggressively, including:
• Shouting at visitors in the shopping centre
• Getting into heated confrontations
• Clashing with security staff at Zenia Boulevard

There are also repeated reports of him carrying a knife and threatening people, which significantly raises the risk level.

A Pattern Across the Coast

According to consistent reports, this man appears to be a transient offender, operating along the Costa:
• He stays in one area (like La Zenia) for a period of time
• Then disappears and moves along the coast, often towards Benidorm or other coastal towns
• After some time, he returns again

This pattern suggests a deliberate attempt to avoid attention or potential law enforcement pressure.

After a quiet period, he is now active again in this area.

What We Are Seeing Now

Recent sightings place him:
• Walking through Calle Niágara (Playa Flamenca)
• Around supermarkets and residential streets
• Again near Zenia Boulevard and surrounding parking areas

The behaviour being reported matches previous incidents.

Clear Advice to Residents

This individual should be considered potentially dangerous.

If you see him:
• Do not engage or confront him
• Keep your distance
• Immediately report any aggressive or suspicious behaviour to:
• Policía Local / Guardia Civil
• Zenia Boulevard security staff

Final Note

This is not speculation or a one-off sighting.

This is a known individual with a repeated pattern of behaviour, reported by multiple independent witnesses over several years.

He is now back in La Zenia.

Stay alert.

🚨 Attempted Break-In in Playa Flamenca Stopped Mid-Action

An attempted burglary was interrupted in Playa Flamenca after two hooded individuals were reportedly caught climbing the perimeter fencing of a residential complex.

According to information released by Policía Local de Orihuela, the suspects were intercepted at the moment they were attempting to gain access to the properties inside the urbanisation. Officers arrived quickly enough to prevent further escalation.

Details regarding arrests, charges, or whether tools were recovered have not yet been officially confirmed.

A Pattern of Testing Perimeters

The method described — scaling fences to access gated communities — is consistent with tactics seen repeatedly across Orihuela Costa in recent months. Residential complexes, particularly those with predictable lighting patterns and limited night surveillance, have increasingly been targeted.

What makes this incident notable is the timing of the intervention. In many previous cases, break-ins were discovered only after the fact. In this instance, police appear to have intercepted the suspects before entry into any property was completed.

It remains unclear whether this was a targeted attempt or opportunistic reconnaissance.

Questions That Remain

While the response prevented a completed burglary, several questions remain unanswered:
• Was this part of a wider organised group operating in the area?
• Were the suspects previously identified in connection with other incidents?
• Has surveillance in the area been increased following recent break-in attempts?

Authorities have not yet released further operational details.

The Wider Context

Playa Flamenca and surrounding urbanisations have seen repeated reports of perimeter breaches, door testing, and coordinated entry attempts over the past year. In several cases, suspects have been described as working in pairs or small groups, often wearing hooded clothing to conceal their identities.

Whether this incident represents a turning point in proactive intervention — or simply a single interrupted attempt — remains to be seen.

For residents, it reinforces one consistent reality: organised entry attempts into gated complexes are not theoretical. They are occurring.

🚨 BREAKING: Masked Burglars Flee Villa Martin Home Just One Hour Ago

A serious burglary has just taken place in the Verde Mar urbanisation in Villa Martin — less than one hour ago.

At approximately 22:00 tonight, two masked individuals wearing black balaclavas broke into a ground-floor property by forcing open a window.

The incident unfolded rapidly and was only interrupted thanks to a vigilant neighbour.

Neighbour Confronts Intruders

A resident living two houses away reported hearing suspicious noise and went outside to check.

Upon approaching the property, he discovered the ground-floor window had been forced open and observed two masked men inside the house.

The intruders reportedly saw the neighbour at the same time and immediately fled the property through a hedge into a neighbouring garden.

The witness briefly pursued them.

Getaway Vehicle Waiting with Engine Running

The suspects ran towards the main road where, according to the witness, a dark-coloured BMW X5 (newer model) was waiting with its engine running and lights switched off.

The two masked individuals jumped into the vehicle, which then sped away via Calle Manuel de Falla in a northerly direction, heading out of Villa Martin.

It is believed a third person was acting as the driver.

Police On Scene Within Minutes

Policía Local were contacted immediately and arrived quickly with three patrol vehicles.

At this stage, it is unclear whether a pursuit was initiated. There was no visible forensic activity at the property while officers were on scene.

The homeowners were not inside the property at the time of the break-in. It is currently unknown whether anything was stolen.

Residents Urged to Stay Alert Tonight

This was not an attempted door check. This was a forced entry into an occupied residential urbanisation.

The coordination of the suspects and the presence of a waiting getaway vehicle indicate a planned operation.

Residents in Villa Martin and surrounding areas are urged to remain vigilant tonight.

Anyone who may have dashcam footage or saw a dark BMW X5 leaving the area around 22:00 is encouraged to contact authorities immediately.

More updates to follow as information becomes available.

🚨 Four Women Detained at La Zenia Boulevard After Alleged Large-Scale Supermarket Theft

A significant police operation unfolded this afternoon at approximately 16:00 on the parking area of La Zenia Boulevard.

According to eyewitnesses, officers of the Policía Local stopped and detained four women after security staff from the shopping centre reported suspected shoplifting inside the Alcampo supermarket.

Security Alert Triggers Police Response

The women had reportedly been observed by private security removing a large quantity of oversized laundry detergent bottles from the store without paying. The products involved were large-format containers of Wipp Express detergent — the same brand and packaging visible in the accompanying images.

Security personnel alerted authorities immediately.

Within minutes, Policía Local units arrived at the parking area, where a grey Citroën connected to the suspects was located and searched.

Vehicle Search Conducted on Site

Officers secured the area and proceeded to search the vehicle. Multiple police units were present during the intervention.

The four women were detained at the scene while the search was carried out.

At this stage, it is understood that the goods were allegedly taken in bulk quantities, raising suspicions that the products may have been intended for resale.

However, authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming the full details of the case.

Organised Retail Theft?

Large-scale theft of everyday consumer goods — particularly high-demand items such as laundry detergent — has become increasingly common across parts of Spain. Such products are frequently targeted due to their resale value in informal markets.

Retailers across the region have previously warned about organised groups targeting supermarkets for bulk items that can easily be redistributed.

Whether this case forms part of a wider pattern remains to be confirmed by police.

Ongoing Investigation

The detainees were taken into custody pending further investigation. It is expected that the case will be processed through the appropriate judicial channels.

No injuries were reported during the operation.

Police presence in and around La Zenia Boulevard remained visible for some time following the intervention.

🚨 Finally, real action at Orihuela Costa: Policía Local de Orihuela delivers major results in fight against crime

For a long time, many residents at Orihuela Costa have felt frustrated, vulnerable, and unheard. But in recent days, something has changed — and for the first time in a long time, we are seeing clear, visible, and decisive action.

The Policía Local de Orihuela, working alongside Guardia Civil and specialised units, has carried out multiple major operations across our coastal communities. And importantly, they are now openly communicating their results — something residents have been asking for.

The results are significant.

🔪 Illegal weapons seized, drugs removed, and suspect arrested

During a major joint security operation across Orihuela Costa, officers removed dangerous illegal knives from the streets and seized illegal narcotics that pose a serious risk to public safety.

A 40-year-old man was arrested for possession of co***ne.

In addition, police carried out extensive inspections of local establishments to ensure they comply with safety and legal requirements — protecting both residents and visitors.

This is proactive policing. This is prevention.

👮 Massive coastal deployment: over 40 officers, arrests, and safety violations uncovered

In an unprecedented coordinated operation involving Policía Local de Orihuela, Guardia Civil from Pilar de la Horadada, and the specialised USECIC unit, authorities deployed over 40 officers across Orihuela Costa.

The operation resulted in:
• Over 50 individuals identified and checked
• Two arrests of individuals with outstanding judicial warrants
• Multiple illegal substances seized
• Serious safety violations discovered in nightlife establishments
• Some venues found operating at up to three times their legal capacity, forcing immediate evacuation to protect public safety

These actions prevented potentially dangerous situations and demonstrated a strong commitment to enforcement.

🚔 Organised criminal group dismantled — stolen goods recovered

In one of the most important breakthroughs, Policía Local successfully dismantled an organised criminal group responsible for thefts targeting local businesses.

Following a security alert, officers tracked the suspects and intercepted their vehicle while they attempted to flee.

Inside, police discovered stolen goods including luxury sunglasses, clothing, and food products.

Approximately €2,000 worth of stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Five suspects were arrested.

This sends a clear message: organised crime is being actively targeted.

🏠 Attempted home burglary stopped in La Zenia — suspects arrested inside the property

In a separate incident on Calle Mayor in La Zenia, a vigilant resident noticed suspicious individuals entering a house that should have been empty and alerted authorities.

Policía Local responded immediately.

Officers entered the property and caught two men in the act of forcing entry and collecting valuables.

Both suspects were arrested on the spot.

This intervention likely prevented a full burglary and significant losses.

📢 A clear shift: action, visibility, and communication

These recent operations show something residents have been waiting for:

✔ Visible police presence
✔ Rapid response
✔ Arrests and dismantling of criminal groups
✔ Removal of drugs and weapons
✔ Prevention of burglaries
✔ And finally — open communication with the public

This transparency matters. It restores confidence. It shows that the safety of Orihuela Costa is being taken seriously.

Crime Watch Orihuela Costa has long highlighted the concerns of residents — and it is only fair to also recognise when decisive action is taken.

We sincerely thank the Policía Local and Guardia Civil officers involved in these operations.

Your work is being seen. Your work is making a difference.

🤝 Community cooperation remains essential

Many of these successes were only possible because residents spoke up, reported suspicious activity, and stayed vigilant.

This proves something important:

When the community and police work together, crime can be stopped.

If you see something suspicious, report it.

Together, we make Orihuela Costa safer.

Early Morning Intruder in Cabo Roig: Camera Torn From Wall During Door Checks

Residents in Cabo Roig were left alarmed this morning after a man was caught on CCTV inside a private garden at 06:24, behaving with chilling confidence.

According to the homeowner, the intruder was seen systematically checking doors, moving through the property while using a handheld flashlight to scan the area. At one point, he removed a security camera from the wall, apparently unaware that other cameras were still recording his movements.

The footage shows the man calmly walking around the property, illuminating corners and entry points, before eventually leaving the scene. The behaviour strongly suggests intent to steal or gain entry, rather than a simple mistake or confusion.

No confrontation occurred, but the incident has reignited concerns among local residents about early-morning trespassing, reconnaissance-style behaviour, and targeted properties.

⚠️ Key details:
• 📍 Location: Cabo Roig
• 🕕 Time: 09.02.2026 at approx. 06:24
• 🔦 Suspect using a flashlight
• 📹 One camera forcibly removed
• 🚪 Doors actively checked

Residents are urged to:
• Double-check doors and gates, even in the early morning hours
• Ensure multiple cameras cover entrances
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately

This incident follows a growing number of similar reports across the Orihuela Costa area, highlighting a clear pattern: quiet hours, calm behaviour, and deliberate testing of security.

If anyone recognises the individual or experienced suspicious activity around the same time, they are encouraged to come forward.

Night of Fear in La Florida: Two Intruders Caught on Camera Trying to Break Into Home

La Florida residents were left shaken last night after chilling CCTV footage revealed two individuals attempting to break into a private home late in the evening of 06 February 2026.

According to the homeowner, the incident unfolded at around 11:00pm and lasted approximately 15 minutes. The suspects were seen testing both the front gate and the main door, apparently using tools to pick locks and force handles, while calmly moving around the property as if they had done this before.

What makes the footage particularly disturbing is the lack of urgency or panic. The pair did not flee immediately. Instead, they persisted, repeatedly trying different access points, suggesting this was not opportunistic, but deliberate.

The homeowner, a 23-year-old woman, later shared that she was inside the house during the attempt.
“I never thought this would happen to me,” she wrote. “I’m terrified to be in my own home.”

The CCTV images show:
• A woman actively working on the door, hands near the lock mechanism
• A male accomplice standing lookout, positioned just behind the entrance area
• Both appearing unmasked, unconcerned about cameras or being identified

Only when the entry attempts failed did the pair finally leave the property, disappearing into the night.

A Growing Pattern

This incident comes amid a rising number of similar reports across Orihuela Costa, particularly in residential areas like La Florida. Residents have repeatedly warned of persistent probing, door testing, and intruders acting with confidence — often assuming nobody is home.

A Stark Reminder

While no entry was ultimately gained in this case, the psychological impact is severe. The footage is a stark reminder that locked doors, visible cameras, and community awareness remain critical.

Residents are urged to:
• Always double-check gates and doors at night
• Ensure cameras are visible and functioning
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately
• Share verified information responsibly to protect others

If you recognise the individuals or witnessed suspicious activity in La Florida last night, contact local authorities.

This time, the door held. Next time, it might not.

Quiet, Confident – and Clearly Not by Accident: Chilling CCTV Attempted Break-In in Villa Martin

On 2 February 2026 at exactly 19:57, a man walked onto a private property in the Verde Mar, Villa Martin Urbanisation as if he belonged there. No rushing. No hesitation. Just calm, deliberate steps.

CCTV footage shows the man approaching the front door and, before touching the handle, calmly putting on a glove on his right hand. That single action changes everything. This was not curiosity. This was preparation.

With the glove on, he attempted to open the door — clearly trying to avoid leaving fingerprints. He then briefly looked directly into the security camera, seemingly unfazed by being recorded. When the door did not open, he simply turned around and walked away normally, without a mask, without panic, and without urgency.

This behaviour strongly suggests intent, not confusion.

There was:
• No attempt to ring the bell
• No sign of looking for the wrong address
• No surprise at being on private property
• No reaction to the visible camera

Instead, the sequence points to a calculated test: check access, test the door, assess surveillance — and leave.

Incidents like this are increasingly familiar to residents in the area. Often, these are “check attempts” carried out before a later burglary, sometimes on another night, sometimes by another person.

The timing — early evening — is also notable. Not late at night. Not hidden. Bold. Confident. As if the perpetrator assumed there would be no consequences.

Residents are once again reminded:
• Always lock doors, even when at home
• Ensure cameras are clearly visible and working
• Report suspicious behaviour, even if “nothing happened”

Because in cases like this, something very clearly almost did.

If anyone recognises this individual or has seen similar behaviour in the area, information should be passed on to the authorities. What looks like “nothing” on one evening can be the first step of something far worse.

FOLLOW-UP | Exploitation case leaves family without answers as suspects remain free

In November 2025, we reported on a deeply disturbing case in Vista Golf, Las Filipinas, where a vulnerable British resident was allegedly manipulated, exploited and robbed by a group of men posing as “decorators”: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid08dgfDtcsCzybD5Uzn8gLofX3nvVx7HbE49ZD4AtimxgGKihbcn3UghcyPsVyh7Cal&id=61550822495651

What initially appeared to be a casual offer of renovation work escalated into a situation that left the victim critically ill in intensive care, his home taken over, and his personal belongings stripped away.

Thanks to the extraordinary response from the community, all suspected individuals were later identified by full name and residential address. This information was formally handed over to the Guardia Civil, together with documentation, witness statements and photographic material provided by the victim’s family.

Where the case stands now

Several months later, the victim’s daughter has contacted us again — not with news of progress, but with growing concern and frustration.

According to her, the men allegedly involved in the exploitation visited her father in hospital while he was incapacitated and stole his wallet and watch from his personal belongings. She also reports that they are still driving around in his stolen vehicle, a silver Opel Omega previously reported to the authorities.

Despite the seriousness of the allegations and the volume of evidence submitted, the family says they have received no updates, no contact, and no indication of active investigation.

Compounding the tragedy, the victim has now been repatriated to the UK after what the family describes as severe medical malpractice, which they say nearly cost him his life. Any further cooperation with Spanish authorities has become exponentially harder as a result.

A wider problem

This follow-up raises uncomfortable but unavoidable questions:

Why has there been no visible enforcement action despite clear identities and addresses?

Why were suspects allegedly able to access the victim again in hospital?

Why does it so often fall to families and communities to do the investigative work, only for cases to stall afterwards?

The pattern seen here — criminals targeting elderly or isolated foreign residents, gaining trust, taking control of property, draining finances, and disappearing into procedural silence — is one that has been repeated across Orihuela Costa for years.

A message from the family

The victim’s daughter has asked a simple question that many families ask after reporting serious crime:

“Is it realistic to expect any outcome at all?”

At this stage, she says her priority is no longer justice for her father alone, but clarity — and a warning to others who may be vulnerable to similar tactics.

Why this follow-up matters

We are publishing this update not to speculate, but to document what has — and has not — happened since November.

This is not a closed case.
It is an unanswered one.

If authorities do act, we will report it.
If they do not, we will continue to ask why.

And to residents across Orihuela Costa:
Be cautious of unsolicited work offers.
Protect vulnerable neighbours.
And never assume that “it won’t happen here.”
