The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is an intergovernmental organisation bringing together 43 countries: All EU member states and 16 Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries. It provides a platform for political dialogue, coordination, and regional cooperation. The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, established in Barcelona in 2010, focuses on enhancing regional cooperation and

integration through the implementation of regional cooperation projects and initiatives in areas such as energy, environment, education, transport, business development and social affairs. The Secretariat works in close collaboration with governments and with an active network of Euro-Mediterranean partners to assist project promoters throughout the entire project cycle: from technical assistance to project implementation, including financial planning and fundraising. 🚀 مهتمّ بريادة الأعمال، لكنك لم تجد بعد الفرصة المناسبة لتبدأ؟

باب التقديم مفتوح للنسخة الثالثة من مختبر شباب المتوسط 2026، المخصّصة لطلبة الجامعات وحديثي التخرّج بين 18 و29 عاماً ممن لديهم خبرة محدودة أو معدومة في ريادة الأعمال.

سيجمع البرنامج ما يصل إلى 30 شاباً وشابة من مختلف أنحاء المتوسط، في تجربة تجمع بين تدريب إلكتروني وورش عمل تطبيقية في باليرمو، إيطاليا.
خلال البرنامج، ستتعرّف على أساسيات التفكير الريادي والابتكار، والثقافة المالية، والتواصل وحل المشكلات. كما ستتلقى الدعم لتصميم جلسة مبسطة حول ريادة الأعمال، يمكنك تقديمها لاحقاً لشباب آخرين في مجتمعك.

لغة البرنامج والتقديم هي الإنجليزية، لذلك يجب أن يكون لديك مستوى يسمح لك بالمشاركة في النقاشات والعمل الجماعي، كما يجب تقديم طلبك والفيديو التعريفي باللغة الإنجليزية.

UfM Economic Forum: Call for registrations

The UfM Economic Forum will bring investors, business leaders, financial institutions, investment promotion agencies and chambers of commerce together around investment facilitation, sustainable energy, connectivity and the reforms needed to mobilise capital at scale across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

6 cities, 1 voice: Ahead of COP31 in Antalya, the UfM and the Turkish COP31 Presidency launched the Antalya Mediterranean Climate Dialogue, a series of seven national consultations held across the region.

Why it matters: the Mediterranean is warming around 20% faster than the global average, yet the region tends to arrive at climate negotiations in fragments rather than with a shared position.

How it works: each consultation brings together governments, scientists, businesses and civil society in one country, around thematic round tables aligned with the COP31 Action Agenda. Energy transition. Access to climate finance. Adaptation and the links between the Rio Conventions.

What it produces: the conclusions of all seven consultations are consolidated into a Mediterranean Synthesis Note, to be presented in Antalya in November.

The series began in Rabat on 8 July and has since travelled through Cairo, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Algiers. The point is simple: when COP31 opens on Mediterranean shores for the first time, the region should walk in with one message, not thirty.

🌍 This International Youth Day, take your first step towards entrepreneurship.

Applications are now open for the third edition of the UfM Med Youth Lab.

The skills-building programme is designed for university students and recent graduates aged 18–29 who are curious about entrepreneurship but have little or no previous experience in the field.
Up to 30 young people from across the Mediterranean will take part in online training, followed by hands-on workshops in Palermo, Italy. They will develop practical skills in entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, financial literacy, communication and problem-solving.

Participants will also receive guidance to design an introductory entrepreneurship session that they can later deliver to other young people in their communities.
Participation is free of charge. Travel, visa fees, and accommodation for the in-person programme will be covered for selected participants from eligible countries: 🇦🇱 🇩🇿 🇧🇦 🇪🇬 🇯🇴 🇱🇧 🇱🇾 🇲🇷 🇲🇪 🇲🇦 🇲🇰 🇵🇸 🇸🇾 🇹🇳 🇹🇷.

The Mediterranean Pavilion is confirmed for COP31 in Antalya 🌍

This November, a UN Climate Conference will be held on Mediterranean shores for the first time. Our region is warming around 20% faster than the rest of the world, so this one really does feel like coming home.

The Pavilion brings together governments, scientists, businesses and civil society from across the basin in one shared space.

📢 Les candidatures sont ouvertes pour la première édition du Prix euro-méditerranéen des femmes journalistes.

Ce prix récompense les reportages sensibles à la dimension de genre et axés sur les solutions portant sur les défis communs de la région, tels que l’égalité des genres, l’inclusion socio-économique ou l’action climatique.

Le prix est ouvert aux femmes journalistes ainsi qu’aux projets journalistiques dirigés par des femmes, dont la candidate principale est issue d’un État membre de l’UpM. Tous les formats journalistiques sont éligibles : article, enquête, podcast, documentaire ou série. Les collaborations transfrontalières sont encouragées. Les travaux peuvent avoir été publiés dans n’importe quelle langue ; l’anglais étant la langue officielle de la candidature et du prix.

Une initiative de l’Union pour la Méditerranée, en partenariat avec le Réseau euro-méditerranéen des femmes journalistes, la Fondation Anna Lindh, l’Institut européen de la Méditerranée et la Fédération internationale des journalistes.

Les lauréates bénéficieront d’une prise en charge complète pour participer à la cérémonie de remise du prix et auront accès au Réseau euro-méditerranéen des femmes journalistes, y compris à ses opportunités de networking et de renforcement des capacités journalistiques.
