AGUSTÍN ALMODÓBAR VISITS THE ALCALALI FESTIVITIES AND OFFERS HIS SUPPORT TO RESTORE THE STATUE OF SAN MIGUEL
The PP senator Agustín Almodóbar has attended these days the festivities of "San Miguel" in Alcalalí. Agustín, despite his busy international schedule, wanted to share the joy and happiness of these festive days with the residents of Alcalali. Historically, these “fiestas” were held in Alcalalí in October, at the end of the cycle in the countryside. After the harvest was harvested, rest and feast came. At present, agricultural economic activity is residual, so it was decided to celebrate the festivities in August.
In statements made by the senator, he commented that: "from the PP we are working so that the city council of Alcalali has the opportunity to return, in the next elections, to transparency, good governance, respect for democratic uses, respect for all councilors and respect for all dissenting opinions". It is unacceptable that the opposition must constantly resort to the mediation of the Ombudsman, in order to access and analyze the city council’s documentation. In this regard, it is a shame to read the latest ruling by the Ombudsman issued this August, No.20261236. The residents of Alcalali do not deserve it. He also made special mention listening sincerely to all groups, including the residents' groups, which are very abandoned. The low level of democratic standards and good governance of the current corporation had never been experienced in Alcalali in the past. In small towns, the values of the residents’ representatives, and especially those of the mayor, are crucial for the democratic quality of the town council.
He also wanted to express his full personal and institutional support to the local group of the PP in this task, so that Alcalalí has the opportunity to return to being the open, inclusive and respectful town with all, as it has always been. A community steeped in a thousand years of history. He commented that everyone counts to build a better town. Great achievements are made through unity.
Regarding the incident in the procession with the image of the patron saint, he commented that "he wishes the speedy recovery of the child who was injured and that he can continue to enjoy his holidays in this dream valley". Finally, he wanted to emphasize that, if the mayor considers it so, we offer her our help to facilitate a worthy restoration of an image of great historical, cultural and artistic value of the religious heritage of Alcalalí.
