This Friday night witnessed the premiere of Arab blockbuster “7 Dogs”, directed by Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Starring Egyptian leading men Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdelaziz, it also features international icons Monica Bellucci and Giancarlo Esposito. We’re proud to see this major Saudi production realised through the artistry of Egyptian, Belgian, and global stars!

🇪🇬🇧🇪✈️Our Ambassador and his Delegation were at the Ministry of Civil Aviation with Dr. Sameh Hefny, the Minister of Civil Aviation, to discuss furthering the bilateral cooperation between the two countries via more passenger and cargo flights.

Given the long historic ties between Egypt and Belgium, the Ambassador commended the Ministry’s development of the civil aviation sector and the clear investment opportunities it presents.

Last week, 🇧🇪 Belgium’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Ambassador Johan Verkammen, and Belgium’s Consul General in Jerusalem, Ambassador Anick Van Calster, were in 🇪🇬 Egypt to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Egypt’s efforts and role in the region, and Belgian and EU’s commitment for stability in the Middle East.

From Cairo to Al Arish, the Delegation had very fruitful meetings with Egyptian and Palestinian counterparts as well as members of the civil society.

Belgium commends Egypt’s role in the region as well as its humanitarian efforts.🇧🇪🇪🇬

Join us next week for the Belgian movie Heads or Fails (Aimer Perdre) as part of the EU Film Festival 2026 in Alexandria. The screening will take place on Wednesday 20 May at 6.00 PM in the Instituto Cervantes Alejandría. 🇧🇪🇪🇺

The film is spoken in French and will be subtitled in English. Entrance is free.

A new Belgian-Egyptian flagship project for climate resilience and sustainable agriculture was inaugurated this week in Nuweiba, South Sinai. 🇧🇪🇪🇬

The Regenerative Desert Project, implemented by the Belgian consortium ORG and 3E in partnership with Habiba Community & Organic Farm, and funded through the Flemish International Climate Action Programme (FICAP), marks an important milestone in Belgian-Egyptian cooperation on sustainability and renewable energy. The project was inaugurated in the presence of our trade attaché Mrs. Haguer Magdi, representative of Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT), together with Admiral Ismail Kamal, governor of South Sinai. The initiative introduces an innovative Agri-PV system combining solar energy generation with sustainable agriculture, desalination and efficient irrigation solutions adapted to arid environments. The project aims to strengthen climate resilience while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable farming practices in Nuweiba.
