SPLM Students League Chairman Briefs National Secretariat on the Situation in Egypt and the Middle East Chapter

The Chairman of the SPLM Students League, Cde. Gabriel Sisto Ngong Biar, once again held a significant engagement with the leadership of the SPLM National Secretariat, where he met with the Secretary for External Relations, Cde. Bol Makueng Yol, for an important briefing on the affairs of the SPLM Students League in Egypt and the wider Middle East Chapter.

During the engagement, Cde. Gabriel also met with the Director for External Relations, Cde. George Abraham, with whom he discussed and shared comprehensive updates regarding the current situation, activities, challenges and organizational developments of the SPLM Students League in Egypt and across the Middle East.

The meetings provided an important platform to strengthen communication, coordination, and cooperation between the Students League and the National Secretariat. Cde. Gabriel emphasized the commitment of the SPLM Students League to remaining united, disciplined, organized, and dedicated to advancing the principles, vision and objectives of the SPLM.

The leadership further underscored the importance of strengthening the Students League's role in mobilizing and empowering young South Sudanese students and ensuring that the voices and concerns of students in the diaspora are effectively communicated to the appropriate leadership structures.

The Chairman expressed appreciation to the External Relations leadership for their continued guidance, engagement and support, reaffirming the SPLM Students League's commitment to working closely with the National Secretariat in promoting unity, organizational discipline and the collective interests of the SPLM and its students' movement in Egypt and the Middle East.

SPLM Students’ League Egypt and Middle East Chapter Meets Minister of Transport,Date 31 August 2026

The Interim Chairman of the SPLM Students’ League, Egypt and Middle East Chapter, Cde. Gabriel Sisto Ngong Biar, held a fruitful meeting with the Hon. Minister of Transport, Cde. Rizik Zechariah Hassan.

During the meeting, the Interim Chairman briefed the Hon. Minister on the ongoing mobilization activities and membership registration of the SPLM Students’ League in preparation for the forthcoming December elections. He reaffirmed the League’s commitment to supporting and standing firmly with H.E. Gen. Cde. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the SPLM Flag Bearer and President of the Republic of South Sudan.

The Chairman emphasized that the Students’ League remains committed to advancing the vision and values of the SPLM by mobilizing and engaging young people and taking the message of the Movement to the grassroots.

The Interim Chairman also congratulated Hon. Cde. Rizik Zechariah Hassan, Minister of Transport, for his continued commitment, steadfast support and dedication to the SPLM and its leadership.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of unity, mobilization, and collective commitment as the SPLM continues preparations for the forthcoming elections.

The SPLM Students' League Egypt and Middle East Chapter, under the leadership of Cde. Gabriel Sisto Ngong Biar, extends its warmest wishes to all comrades and the people of the Republic of South Sudan on the occasion of Martyrs' Day, commemorated on 30 July.

On this solemn occasion, we honor the brave heroes and heroines who made the ultimate sacrifice in the struggle for the freedom, justice, and independence of our beloved nation. Their courage, resilience and unwavering commitment remain a lasting source of inspiration as we continue to strive for peace, unity and sustainable development in South Sudan.

As we remember their sacrifice, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ideals for which they gave their lives. Guided by the leadership of Cde. Gabriel Sisto Ngong Biar, we remain committed to working together in the spirit of patriotism, reconciliation, and national unity to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous Republic of South Sudan for present and future generations.

Happy Martyrs' Day. May our fallen heroes and heroines rest in eternal peace and may their sacrifices never be forgotten. Their legacy will forever remain etched in the history of our nation and in the hearts of its people.

Chairman of the SPLM Students' League Egypt and Middle East Chapter Attends Leadership Briefing

Cairo, Egypt – The Chairman of the SPLM Students' League Egypt and Middle East Chapter, Cde. Gabriel Sisto Ngong Biar, attended a briefing meeting organized by the top leadership of the SPLM Egypt and Middle East Chapter to discuss key administrative and organizational matters.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Chairperson, Cde. Lily Francis Modi, and the Secretary General, Cde. David Nhial Kuol Garang, reaffirming the Students' League leadership's collective commitment to strengthening the organization and promoting effective coordination.

The meeting focused on improving administrative efficiency, enhancing collaboration between the Students' League and the chapter's leadership and reinforcing the values of unity, accountability and effective communication in advancing the objectives of the SPLM.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the leadership to work together in promoting unity, discipline and effective leadership in serving South Sudanese students across Egypt and the Middle East.

During the meeting, the Interim Chairperson emphasized the importance of membership registration and the collection of SPLM membership cards in preparation for the upcoming election of the Chairperson of the SPLM Egypt and Middle East Chapter. He reminded members that holding a valid SPLM membership card is a fundamental requirement to exercise their democratic right to vote in the election.

Comrade Wakou also called upon all comrades to intensify mobilization efforts, stressing that the time has come to build a strong, united, and people-centered movement. He encouraged members to work tirelessly, day and night, to organize and prepare the South Sudanese community across Egypt and the Middle East for the upcoming electoral process and to support the leadership of H.E. General Salva Kiir Mayardit.

He further urged all comrades to uphold the values of unity, solidarity, mutual respect, and love, calling on young men, young women, mothers, fathers and the entire South Sudanese community to work together for a peaceful, stable and prosperous South Sudan.

The Interim Chairperson also reminded members of the importance of respecting the laws and regulations of the Arab Republic of Egypt, emphasizing that respecting the laws of the host country is a reflection of our respect for our own nation and our movement.

In his closing remarks, Comrade Wakou encouraged all comrades to remain active and committed, saying that this is not a time for complacency but a time for dedication, continuous outreach, and spreading the vision and values of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) among all South Sudanese living in Egypt.
