Embassy of Nepal Hosts Nepal–Egypt Tea and Coffee Business Forum in Cairo
The Embassy of Nepal organized a virtual Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting between Nepali and Egyptian tea and coffee stakeholders in Cairo today. The event brought together representatives from government institutions, chambers of commerce, business communities, and industry experts to explore opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration in the tea and coffee sectors. The event was also used to commemorate International Tea Day, which is on the 21st of May.
H.E. Mr. Sushil K. Lamsal, Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt, delivered welcome remarks highlighting the strong potential for enhancing tea and coffee business between Nepal and Egypt. Distinguished speakers from the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, including Major General Salah El-Abd and Dr. Ahmed Ghareeb, emphasized Egypt's growing market for tea and coffee and interest in high-quality products.
Dr. Gaurav Luitel, representative of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board of Nepal, presented an overview of Nepal's premium tea and specialty coffee, underscoring their unique quality and export potential.
The programme featured a video presentation showcasing the heritage, cultivation practices, and distinctive qualities of Nepali tea and coffee, followed by detailed presentations on each sector, highlighting Nepal's orthodox teas and high-value specialty coffee.
An interactive session provided a platform for participants to engage directly, exchange ideas, and discuss practical pathways for collaboration, including import partnerships, branding opportunities, and market entry strategies.
The event concluded with a shared commitment from both sides to continue dialogue and pursue concrete business engagements.
The programme was moderated by DCM Ms. Indira Aryal, with interpretation support provided by Second Secretary Mr. Ritesh Shah (Nepali–English) and Ms. Rahma (Arabic–English).
استضافت سفارة نيبال في القاهرة اليوم منتدى الأعمال النيبالي–المصري للشاي والقهوة
حيث نظّمت اجتماعًا افتراضيًا للأعمال بين الشركات (B2B) جمع أصحاب المصلحة من قطاعي الشاي والقهوة في نيبال ومصر. وشارك في الفعالية ممثلون عن المؤسسات الحكومية، وغرف التجارة، ومجتمعات الأعمال، وخبراء الصناعة، بهدف استكشاف فرص التجارة والاستثمار والتعاون في قطاعي الشاي والقهوة. كما أُقيمت الفعالية إحياءً لليوم الدولي للشاي الذي يُصادف 21 مايو.
وألقى سعادة السيد سوشيل ك. لامسال، سفير نيبال لدى مصر، كلمة ترحيبية سلّط فيها الضوء على الإمكانات الكبيرة لتعزيز التعاون التجاري في مجالي الشاي والقهوة بين نيبال ومصر. كما أكد المتحدثون البارزون من غرفة تجارة القاهرة، بمن فيهم اللواء صلاح العبد والدكتور أحمد غريب، على النمو المتزايد لسوق الشاي والقهوة في مصر واهتمامه بالمنتجات عالية الجودة.
وقدّم الدكتور غوراف لويتل، ممثل المجلس الوطني لتطوير الشاي والقهوة في نيبال، عرضًا حول الشاي الفاخر والقهوة المتخصصة في نيبال، مشددًا على جودتهما الفريدة وإمكاناتهما التصديرية.
وتضمّن البرنامج عرض فيديو استعرض تراث الشاي والقهوة في نيبال، وأساليب زراعتهما، وخصائصهما المميزة، تلاه عرضان تفصيليان حول كل قطاع، مع التركيز على أنواع الشاي الأرثوذكسي النيبالي والقهوة المتخصصة عالية القيمة.
كما أتاحَت الجلسة التفاعلية للمشاركين فرصة للتواصل المباشر وتبادل الأفكار ومناقشة السبل العملية للتعاون، بما في ذلك شراكات الاستيراد، وفرص العلامات التجارية، واستراتيجيات دخول الأسواق.
واختُتمت الفعالية بتأكيد مشترك من الجانبين على مواصلة الحوار والعمل نحو إطلاق شراكات تجارية ملموسة.
وقد أدارت البرنامج نائبة رئيس البعثة السيدة إنديرا أريال، فيما قدّم السكرتير الثاني السيد ريتيش شاه خدمات الترجمة بين النيبالية والإنجليزية، وقدّمت السيدة رحمة الترجمة بين العربية والإنجليزية.
