At The Shift 2026, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, joined an influential panel of regional and global technology leaders including Marwa Abbas, GM IBM & Technology Leader NE Africa, Amr Fathy, Chief Technology and Information Officer at e&, Mirna Arif, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, and Malak El Baba, Visa Vice President and Country Manager for Egypt, Libya, and Sudan, for a discussion on the future of AI governance and digital transformation.
The discussion tackled one of the defining challenges shaping the future of AI today: how governments and industry can move at the pace of innovation while building the trust, standards, and governance frameworks needed for sustainable growth.
A key message throughout the session was clear: the future of AI will not be built through industry alone or government alone. It will be built through co-creation.
From digital sovereignty and cybersecurity to responsible AI adoption, cloud infrastructure, and data governance, the panel highlighted how strong public-private collaboration is becoming the foundation for scalable innovation ecosystems worldwide.
Eng. Ahmed Elzaher also highlighted Egypt’s growing role as a regional technology and innovation hub, driven by an expanding digital ecosystem and strategic partnerships with global technology leaders across the market.
