Ambassador Aqsa Nawaz made an official visit to Djibouti Coast Guard Headquarter Camp Doraleh and met Colonel Wais Omar Bogoreh, Commander of the Djibouti Coast Guard. After a short tour and briefing on different departments by the officials, the Ambassador held a constructive talk with the Commander of the Djibouti Coast Guard.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed existing state of maritime cooperation and explored ways to enhance these ties in all areas of mutual interest. Ambassador Nawaz appreciated the Djibouti Coast Guard for its remarkable progress and achievements since its establishment in 2010 and emphasised to intensify bilateral exchanges and strengthen cooperation in maritime security, capacity building, and training for mutual benefit.

Colonel Wais Omar Bogoreh, Commander of the Djibouti Coast Guard is the founder of the Djibouti Coast Guard and visited Pakistan twice in 2023 and 2024.

Ambassador Aqsa Nawaz visited Al-Rahma Hospital complex, one of the famous local private sector hospitals in Djibouti ; established since 2002 and expanded in 2008 and 2012 Al-Rehma hospital is providing quality services to local as well as foreign communities in Djibouti;
The Al-Rahma team introduced various departments and hospital facilities to the Ambassador; comprising 150 bed facility, the hospital offers OPD, cardiology, neurology, and orthopaedic clinics among others; the two sides discussed ways to develop collaboration in health sector with Pakistani health institutes and the embassy, especially in capacity building and trainings projects.

23rd March 2026 National Day Celebration at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

PRESS RELEASE

A flag hoisting ceremony was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan Djibouti to mark 23rd March National Day of Pakistan, today. This year’s event was observed with simplicity and dignity to express solidarity with the countries and peoples of the Middle East and the wider region affected by the ongoing conflict and tragic loss of innocent lives.

The ceremony started with recitation of the Holy Quran. The national anthems of Djibouti and Pakistan were played and followed by flag hoisting. Later, special messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister for the occasion were read out by the Deputy Head of Mission. In her remarks, Ambassador Aqsa Nawaz highlighted importance of the Pakistan Resolution adopted on 23rd March in 1940 that led to the creation of Pakistan. She outlined rapidly growing Pakistan-Djibouti bilateral relation since opening of the the Pakistan Embassy and emphasize to further strengthening trade and economic cooperation.

While paying homage to the founding fathers of Pakistan, Ambassador congratulated Pakistani community for their successes in Djibouti and urged them to continue working hard to keep the Pakistani flag high.

The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, government officials and Pakistan community members residing in Djibouti. At the end of ceremony, the guests were served with light refreshment and documentaries showcasing Pakistan's rich history, culture and touristic attractions were screened.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, on the sidelines of the consultative meeting of Arab and Islamic countries.

The discussions focused on evolving regional dynamics and reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing peace, stability, and collective prosperity.
