During Saber Junction 26, assets from the 52d Air Defense Artillery Brigade supported the 173rd Airborne Brigade by helping protect artillery forces from unmanned threats at Hohenfels Training Area, Germany.

Using the SGT STOUT, air defenders provided early warning and counter-UAS coverage that helped field artillery units maintain secure firing points and continue delivering fires in support of maneuver.

The integration highlighted a key reality of modern conflict: protecting the force from aerial threats is essential to keeping combat power in the fight.

Angolan Armed Forces and U.S. Army Reserve medical professionals with the 915th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment conducted a trauma activation simulation in Luanda, Angola, as part of the Angola Medical Readiness Exercise.

The exercise tested expeditionary trauma response across the full continuum of care, from point-of-injury treatment and evacuation to emergency room care, resuscitation, stabilization, and medevac planning.

By alternating roles and then working together in a combined final iteration, both teams were able to exchange experience, identify lessons learned, and strengthen coordination in a realistic medical scenario.

: U.S. Soldiers joined Polish partners to honor the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Osowe Grzędy in Poland.

The commemoration recognized one of the largest and fiercest partisan battles fought by the Polish 9th Horse Cavalry Riflemen Regiment of the Home Army against German forces during World War II.

We Are SETAF-AF highlights the Soldiers behind U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, a command that prepares forces, responds to crisis, and supports missions across Europe, Africa and beyond.

For Sgt. 1st Class James Vervaecke, chief customs agent and program manager with the Operational Protection Directorate, that mission means integrating customs requirements into military movements across the African continent and helping SETAF-AF deploy, operate, and redeploy forces and equipment.

: A passing of the torch at Saber Junction 26

During Saber Junction 26 at Hohenfels, Command Sgt. Maj. Kerry Schnitz served as an observer coach/trainer with Adler Team while his daughter, 2nd Lt. Karissa Schnitz, supported the 173rd Airborne Brigade as a logistics officer. For him, it was his final rotation. For her, it was her first.

That overlap made this more than a family story. It became a moment that captured what training is supposed to do, pass experience forward, sharpen the next generation, and leave the force stronger than you found it.

We remember 9/11, and we remember what came after.

The attacks of Sept. 11 changed our Nation and reshaped our Army. In the 25 years since, the Army has continued to evolve as the foundation of the Joint Force, providing the capabilities that allow the United States to project power, respond to crisis, and defend its interests around the world.

Today, U.S. Army Europe and Africa carries that legacy forward by building readiness, strengthening deterrence, and standing ready behind Allies and partners across two theaters.

We honor those we lost by remaining ready for what the Nation asks of us next.
