U.S. Marines and French Foreign Legionnaires sharpen expeditionary skills through challenging mobility and obstacle-course training during Exercise Salamandre 26. Building confidence in difficult terrain strengthens the trust, adaptability and resilience required to operate together in complex environments.

U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company launch and recover a Combat Rubber Raiding Craft from a submarine off the coast of Augusta, Italy, during Exercise Dynamic Manta 26.

Operating at sea demands precision, timing, and trust. Through submarine insertion training, reconnaissance teams sharpen maritime infiltration capabilities while strengthening interoperability with NATO Allies in complex naval environments.

Exercises like Dynamic Manta prepare forces to operate seamlessly across the maritime domain—from beneath the surface to the objective.

The echoes of Taps sound through the trees of Belleau Wood. 🎞️🎺

This Memorial Day, we marked the 108th anniversary of the historic battle across four solemn ceremonies, honoring the legacy of the fallen and the strength of our enduring alliances.

Our observances began at the German Military Cemetery, where a ceremony established in 2018 serves as a powerful testament to reconciliation. We approach this ground with deep respect, recognizing that the German nation—once our foe in these trenches—has long since stood alongside us as a steadfast ally.

Next, deep within the woods where the fighting occurred, the Marine Memorial "Iron Mike" ceremony provided a small, private, and deeply solemn military-to-military gathering to reflect on the legacy of those warriors.

We then gathered at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to honor the American service members who laid down their lives in defense of our nation and European partners.

Finally, our tributes concluded at the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, remembering the ultimate sacrifice of the soldiers resting there.

We remember their sacrifice. We honor our enduring partnerships. 🇺🇸🇫🇷🇩🇪

BALTOPS is back.

In a few days, Allied forces from 15 nations will deploy across the Baltic Sea region, with key operations conducted in Germany, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and on, under and above the sea, to take part in the region’s premier maritime exercise for two weeks.

The ceremony served as a solemn reminder that freedom carries a cost paid by generations of service members whose sacrifice continues to shape the world we live in today.

Marines and Sailors with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa joined French officials, U.S. military leaders, veterans, and community members at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

More than a century after the Battle of Belleau Wood, we remember the courage, service, and sacrifice of the Americans who fought here and the enduring bonds forged between allies through shared hardship and commitment.

Their legacy continues to inspire Marines serving forward alongside our allies and partners today.

At the historic Belleau Wood battle site, Marines and Sailors with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa gathered alongside French and German partners to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood.

The battle helped define the fighting spirit of the Marine Corps and remains a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who answered their nation's call.
