An incredible sold-out evening at Literaturhaus Schleswig-Holstein with Rachel Khong , author of "Real Americans".

Alongside German readings by the fantastic , we had the opportunity to hear Rachel Khong reflect on her writing process, the real-life experiences that shaped the novel, and how writing allows her to explore questions more deeply—even if it can't provide the answers.

A huge thank you to Rachel Khong and the Literaturhaus SH for such a fantastic and memorable evening!

✨️Meet Christian!✨️

Christian came to Kiel 5 years ago from his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia, and has been working at the AGSH for the past 2 years. Since completing his master's in Environmental Management at the CAU, Christian has not only taken on the leadership of 2 Discussion Groups, he has also relaunched our Conversation in the School program at the Max-Planck-Schule. The AGSH is lucky to have him on the team!

Am Montagabend waren wir im Literaturhaus Schleswig-Holstein, wo wir gemeinsam mit dem Team des Literaturhauses den Journalisten, Buchautor, Filmemacher, Podcastmoderator und Medienunternehmer Klaus Brinkbäumer begrüßen durften. Neben der Lesung von Passagen aus seinem neuesten Buch „Der amerikanische Albtraum” berichtete Klaus Brinkbäumer eindrucksvoll von persönlichen Erfahrungen und teilte seine fundierten Einschätzungen zur politischen Entwicklung in den USA. Vielen Dank an Klaus Brinkbäumer und das Team des Literaturhauses Schleswig-Holstein für diesen tollen Abend!

Der nächste „Art in English“-Kurs findet am 21.05.2026 um 18 Uhr statt! Das Thema lautet diesmal „The Raven”. Die Teilnehmer*innen werden einen kurzen Text über den Raben lesen, der den Menschen das Licht geschenkt hat, und etwas über die Kultur der Northwest Coast Native Americans lernen.
