Friends, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for your situational awareness.

The Department of Defense implemented the second phase of OCOLA decreases November 15, 2023. Service members in affected OCONUS locations will see the decreases in their December 1, 2023, paychecks.

Overseas Cost-of-Living Allowance is a non-taxable allowance designed to ensure service members assigned to a permanent duty station outside the United States maintain an equivalent level of purchasing power as their counterparts stationed in the U.S. OCOLA calculations are based on a comparison to prices in the U.S., as well as a myriad of factors to include rank, time in service, and number of dependents. If U.S. prices rise at a rate greater than overseas prices, OCOLA may decrease. Additionally, OCOLA may increase if overseas prices rise at a rate greater than U.S. prices.

The area surrounding building 5920 on Katterbach Kaserne has been cleared and all roads have reopened. Thank you for your cooperation and have a great day!

📢Attention Ansbach Community📢
Due to ongoing safety investigation efforts, please avoid the area surrounding building 5920 on Katterbach kaserne.

Military police patrols have established traffic control points to redirect traffic in the affected area.

You will be notified when the area is once again cleared for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Thank you for your cooperation.

The South Gate will be closed again today. Please see the post below from USAG Ansbach Community for future gate closure dates.

Gate Closure Reminder
The High School access control point on Katterbach Kaserne will be temporarily closed to all traffic today and tomorrow (16th & 17th March), 8 - 11:30 a.m.

It will also be closed 8 - 11:30 a.m. on the following days in March:

22nd, 23rd, 28th and 29th

You will have to use Katterbach Main ACP in order to gain access to Katterbach Kaserne during those times.
Traffic can exit the installation from either the Katterbach crossover exit or Main ACP.

The Katterbach South Gate (High School Gate) will be closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic for both entry and exit from 08:00- 11:30 hours today, Thursday, March 16, 2023.
