On August 29, the 3rd Networking Event of Japanese Life Science Forum in Germany ― JaLFiG was held in Berlin, bringing together early-career researchers working across Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and Denmark.

The event featured an invited lecture by Dr. Hirotsugu Oda, Group Leader at the University of Lübeck, as well as research presentations and lively discussions on the latest developments in life sciences.
Participants also exchanged ideas on the experience of conducting research abroad and the skills gained through international research.
A great opportunity to connect, share ideas, and build new collaborations across borders!

The JSPS Bonn Office was also pleased to introduce JSPS programs at the event.


8 月29日、第3回ドイツ生命科学日本人の会交流会がベルリンで開催され、JSPSボン研究連絡センターもJSPS事業紹介を実施しました。
当日は、リューベック大学 ヒト分子免疫学研究室 グループリーダーの小田紘嗣先生の招待講演に加え、ドイツ・スイス・イギリス・デンマークで活動する若手研究者からの研究発表を通して、広く生命科学に関係する最新の研究動向に関する議論が行われました。
またグループ討論や懇親会では、海外で研究を実施する際のポイントや身につくスキル等について、参加者同士の活発な意見交換が行われ、実り多いイベントとなりました。

【Save the date】 第5回ドイツ研究者ネットワーク交流会のお知らせ

●イベント概要（予定）
日時： 2026年11月27日（金)13:00-18:00（現地時間）
　※終了後、大学内別会場で懇親会（18:00～21:00頃）
　※午前中、研究者有志によるアイスブレイク、大学内の研究室訪問等についても、現在、検討・調整を進めております。
場所：Ruhr University Bochum
対象：ドイツをはじめとする欧州で活動中の研究者
　※内容は博士課程以上を想定していますが、分野・職位・在籍課程・JSPS事業採用歴等は問いません。日本語での開催になりますが、国籍を問わずご参加いただけます。

ドイツ研究者ネットワーク交流会は、世話人である研究者有志が企画した、研究者による研究者のための交流会です。
毎年60名～80名の研究者が参加し、研究分野を問わず互いに交流を深め、またキャリアパスやワークライフバランス、メンタルヘルス等についての情報交換を図ってきました。

第5回目となる今年は、筑波大学ボーフムオフィスの協力のもと、Ruhr University Bochumにて開催いたします。
当日は、様々なキャリアパスを経験されている講師の方々をお招きし、パネルディスカッション形式・参加者一体型での意見交換・情報交換が出来る交流の場とさせていただく予定です。

On 31 July, Professor Nobuko Ohmido and Ms. Sara Ishiguro, a doctoral student from Kobe University, visited the JSPS Bonn Office.

During the visit, we learned about the progress of the academic partnership between Kobe University and RWTH Aachen University, as well as the development of their collaborative research, including the publication of a paper with Ms. Ishiguro as the first author based on her research conducted at RWTH Aachen University.

We also exchanged views on academic collaboration between Japan and Germany, the research environment in both countries, and career paths after completing a doctoral degree.



7月31 日、神戸大学の近江戸伸子教授、博士学生の石黒更さんがボンセンターを来訪されました。
神戸大学とアーヘン工科大学の学術交流協定の締結、アーヘン工科大学で研究を実施されている石黒さんを筆頭著者とする論文掲載を始めとした共同研究の進展状況をお伺いし、また日本とドイツの学術交流や研究環境、博士取得後のキャリアパス等について意見交換を行いました。

We are pleased to announce that the Embassy of Japan in Switzerland has now compiled and published the Swiss PI Map:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) is promoting the creation of a database of Japanese Principal Investigators (P*s) based overseas, with the aim of strengthening networks among Japanese researchers abroad and enhancing collaboration with Japan.
This initiative is expected to deepen bilateral cooperation and, ultimately, contribute to strengthening Japan's research capabilities.
The JSPS Overseas Offices are also cooperating in the development of this database.

The JSPS Bonn Office looks forward to further supporting and cooperating in initiatives to strengthen the research network in Switzerland.

外務省では、海外在住の研究者同士や日本との連携を強化することが、二国間協力の深化、ひいては日本の国力強化につながるという考えから、日本人PI情報のリスト化に取り組んでおり、JSPS海外センターもその作成に協力しています。

今後、スイスでの研究者間ネットワーク構築に向けて、JSPSボン研究連絡センターも一層の活動と協力をさせていただきます。

7月2日、塩田理事をはじめJSPS東京本部から3名がボンを訪れ、アレクサンダー・フォン・フンボルト財団（AvH）、ドイツ学術交流会（DAAD）、ドイツ研究振興協会（DFG）を訪問しました。各機関との協力関係のさらなる発展に向けて意見交換を行い、日独学術交流の一層の活性化について議論しました。

On July 2, three representatives from the JSPS Headquarters in Tokyo, including Executive Director Shiota, visited Bonn and held meetings with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation with these partner organizations and further promoting academic exchange between Japan and Germany.

7月2日、年次報告会「JSPS Abend」を開催しました。本会対応機関や日独の学術関係者をお招きし、ドイツ語圏におけるこの1年間の活動を報告するとともに、和やかな雰囲気の中で交流を深めました。また、本年9月末をもって退任する林正彦センター長から挨拶があり、10月より着任予定の増本浩子次期センター長を紹介しました。

On July 2, we held our annual report meeting, “JSPS Abend.”
Together with representatives of our partner organizations and members of the Japanese and German academic communities, we looked back on the activities of the past year and enjoyed lively exchanges in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The event concluded with farewell remarks from Center Director Masahiko Hayashi, who will retire at the end of September, and the introduction of Hiroko Masumoto, who will take up the position of Center Director in October.

2026年度日独若手専門家交流事業ドイツ研修プログラムの参加者の募集を開始しました。今年のテーマは量子技術分野の研究。2026年11月14日～22日にドイツを訪問し、産官学の研究機関の視察訪問やドイツの研究者との意見交換等を行います。

On 2nd June, we participated in the International Study and Internship Fair at Universität Bonn.
Many students interested in conducting research in Japan visited our booth, where we provided information about our international exchange programs.


6月2日ボン大学にて開催された留学フェアにJSPSのブースを出展しました。
日本での研究滞在に関心の高い学生が多く訪れ、JSPSの学術国際交流事業について直接説明を行いました。

On 9th June, we welcomed Mr. Yohei WATANABE, Embassy of Japan in Germany First Secretary (Education, Culture, Sport).
We had a meaningful discussion on research exchange and fellowship opportunities between Germany and Japan, and explored the role of JSPS in promoting international research collaboration.


6月9日、在ドイツ日本国大使館の渡辺洋平一等書記官（教育・文化・スポーツ担当）　がボンセンターに来訪されました。ドイツと日本の研究留学・奨学金制度やJSPSの役割について有意義な意見交換を行いました。
