December 13, 2024 marked a historic occasion. The Delta team said goodbye to CPT Cameron J. Hester as he passed the guidon to relinquish his command.

The Devilhound family welcomed CPT Alvin R. Burns to the ranks, as he was handed the guidon to assume the duty of Battery Commander.

We would like to thank Jocelyn Herrera for her support during the last 18 months. She truly made an impact on the Soldiers and families of Delta Battery.

We welcomed Sabine Burns and Al Burns to the Devilhound family, and are excited to foster new relationships that will last a lifetime.

CPT Hester, thank you for all you did for Delta Battery. Your time in command was nothing short of exceptional and your impact will remain in the hearts and minds of all those you lead.

Delta Battery executed a Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) Drill this morning. Led by the Officer in Charge, 1LT Owens, the purpose of the ROC Drill was to brief the overall concept of Operation RAPID SHIELD. This Operation will be Delta’s culminating training event for 1st Quarter and will allow them to certify crews while rehearsing deployment operations. NCOICs and OICs of each phase briefed their task and purpose while providing opportunities for the junior Soldiers to ask questions about their role during the Operation.

The Battalion Commander, LTC Corbett, attended the ROC drill, along with our S3 MAJ Davis and SGM Cool, our Operations Sergeant Major.

5-7 BN is hosting a BN Trunk or Treat tomorrow, 24 October from 5 pm - 8 pm. All families are welcome to attend, there will be candy handed out and trunks decorated! Delta Battery will also be hosting a haunted house for all to enjoy.. if they dare.

This week Delta achieved excellence in multiple areas. SPC Doe, 1LT Owens, and SGT Saleem represented Delta during a BN push-up competition. SPC Doe came out on top with 105 pushups!

SPC Joseph was recognized for his commitment to bettering himself. He increased his ACFT score by 30 points in the last few months. He is an example to all Soldiers, putting effort in everyday to be 1% better.

CPL Nelson was recognized for his work as a maintainer. During a period of low manning, CPL Nelson stepped up and assumed duties that are typically performed by a Staff Sergeant. He has had a direct impact on BN readiness by ensuring MX is properly performed and equipment is working.

HQ and Fire Control completed the ACFT this week! Delta continues to lead from the front in physical fitness. Launcher has their ACFT coming up next week, we are excited to see their results!

Delta Battery had 11 Soldiers qualify GOLD during the German Schützenschnur. The Schützenschnur Badge, also known as the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge, is a prestigious award from 1894 and given to soldiers who demonstrate rifle and pistol marksmanship proficiency. To earn the award, one must successfully qualify in one of the three classes: gold, silver, or bronze.

To earn the badge, soldiers must fire a series of qualification shots with an assault rifle and pistol. The qualification shots are fired at different distances and from different positions.

Devilhound Soldiers had the opportunity recently to engage with German Military Forces. The group of Soldiers observed a live fire and engaged in conversation about German Artillery. Delta Battery is looking forward to more opportunities to work alongside our allied forces.

Over the past few weeks, Delta Battery has been preparing for Operation Rapid Shield, recognized some outstanding Soldiers, and promoted a deserving Soldier to Sergeant.

Delta Battery performed wash-rack operations for multiple vehicles in preparation for a Deployment Readiness Exercise.

The Command Team recognized SGT Laver as the Soldier of the Month for his tireless efforts in System Maintenance, and his work with the TMDE program. SSG Moore was recognized due to his assistance during Pre-Change of Command inventories. SSG Kelsey, PV2 Kaba, and PFC Ervin were all recognized for their technical and tactical proficiency and performance during Crew Certification Validation.

SGT Boekel was recently promoted from Corporal ro Sergeant. SGT Boekel lives the Army Values everyday, and he is a leader that all Non-Commissioned Officers can look up to. We are extremely proud of SGT Boekel and Delta Battery is excited to see what he accomplishes as a leader of Soldiers.

The Delta Battery command team recognized PV2 Artis and SGT Eargood today for their outstanding accomplishments. SGT Eargood was recognized for her commitment to excellence while serving as the Barracks Manager. SGT Eargood received an ARCOM for having the “Best Barracks” in the Rheinland-Pfalz Garrison.

PV2 Artis, a 14T Launching Station Operator/Maintainer, was recently put on a Radar Mobility crew after being in the Battery for less than a month due to mission requirements. She passed her Table IV examination with a 96% “First Time GO” after only two weeks of training. Her performance demonstrates her ability to perform duties outside the scope of her responsibility.

The Devilhounds completed their first annual Delta BTRY 10-miler last week! This event was organized by SPC Doe and SSG Morales, and was successful due to the help of many Soldiers that set-up and assisted during the event.

The Army 10-miler is an event held in Washington, D.C. every year. This event was organized for the Soldiers to complete their own 10-miler while stationed overseas.

Service members from HHB and other units participated alongside Delta during this event. Our BN CDR and CSM recognized SPC Doe and SSG Morales for their efforts in organizing the 10-miler. We hope to see many more participants in the years to come.

Devilhound Excellence! Today we had three Soldiers pass the E-5 Promotion Board: SPC Landis, SPC Doe, and SPC Harris. They all received “First time GOs”.

We welcomed PV2 Kaba, PV2 Baker, and PFC Ervin to the No Fear Team in front of BN Formation. Welcome to the family!

Launcher platoon certified 3x PM&E Crews with all “First Time Gos” with less than a 48 hour notification for the certification. They demonstrated their dedication to mission and resiliency this week.

Finally, Delta Battery has been pushing to turn in broken equipment so we can order new things for our Battery! This meant washing tents at the Wash Rack with a broom, showcasing our Soldier’s resourcefulness.
