It was a milestone-filled week for the Veto Battalion, marking a couple firsts since its activation in Ansbach, Germany.
We began with Bravo Battery (Black Riders), who held a Change of Command ceremony. The Battalion bid farewell to CPT Fischer and welcomed CPT Stadtlander as the new Black Rider 6. CPT Fischer’s leadership will be missed, and we wish him all the best in his next assignment. The ceremony was hosted by the Battalion Commander, LTC Ruff.
Next, MSG Corbell was formally promoted to 1SG ahead of Alpha Battery’s (Anubis) Change of Responsibility from 1SG Scott to 1SG Corbell. We thank 1SG Scott for his exceptional service and dedication, and wish him and his family the very best as he transitions into retirement after 20 years of service. CPT Shackleton, Alpha Battery Commander, hosted the ceremony.
Following that, the Battalion conducted a Change of Responsibility for our senior enlisted leader. We said farewell to CSM Abitua, who played a vital role in standing up the Veto Battalion in Ansbach. His impact and legacy will be felt for years to come. We proudly welcomed CSM Chaffey as the new Veto 7 and extend our sincere best wishes to CSM Abitua and his family as they head to their next chapter. The ceremony was hosted by the Battalion Commander, LTC Ruff.
To cap off the week, the Veto Battalion Softball Team brought home the USAG Ansbach Championship, defeating the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade with a commanding 13–2 victory.
A truly historic week for the Veto Battalion—Forbid The Skies, Pursue The Enemy.
