The South Specific (Jižní svéráz) festival will transform the entire region of South Bohemia region one big stage from May to September, offering dozens of theatrical experiences in places where you’d hardly expect them. 🎭
You can look forward to more than 40 productions by dozens of Czech and international ensembles, taking you into parks, historical landmarks, industrial spaces, and completely unexpected corners of the region. The line between stage and audience often blurs, making you part of the story. 💃

Through individual performances, you’ll get a glimpse into places such as the Žižkárna Barracks, the Blanice hostel in Týn nad Vltavou, and the newly reopened Slavie Cultural House. You’ll see puppet theatre performed on the surface of the Bagr pond and experience a revived village square in Holašovice. 🏠

Happy Easter from Budweis! 🌷🐣

This special time of year is closely tied to beautiful traditions here. In addition to decorating Easter eggs, the Pomlázka on Easter Monday, and spending time together, there is also the typical “Easter rattling” (Velikonoční hrkání) – when children walk through the streets with rattles, replacing the church bells.

All these customs give the holidays in our region a unique atmosphere full of togetherness, joy, and springtime spirit. 🌞💛
