🏛️🇪🇺 A remarkable recognition for 🇨🇾Cyprus and European !

We are delighted to share that the Project has achieved a unique distinction within the Europeana campaigns Europeana.eu .

During the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, our pilot case study was selected by Europeana as a representative example of Cyprus’ cultural heritage, identity, and knowledge.

Today, during the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a second EUreka3D-XR pilot case study, , has also been selected to represent Cyprus.

This means that EUreka3D-XR is the only EU-funded project whose pilot case studies have been harvested and showcased by Europeana in two different TwinIT campaigns, under two different EU Council Presidencies.

These recognitions highlight the importance of advanced 3D digitisation, digital twins, XR technologies, and innovative heritage documentation methods in preserving and promoting Europe's cultural heritage for future generations.

We are proud that both and have become digital ambassadors of Cyprus, showcasing our rich cultural heritage to Europe and the world through the European Cultural Heritage Data Space and Europeana.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all project partners, researchers, heritage experts, cultural institutions, and contributors whose dedication made this achievement possible.

✨Ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία η Εβδομάδα Κινεζικού Κινηματογράφου στην Κύπρο.

Η Εβδομάδα Κινεζικού Κινηματογράφου στην Κύπρο, που συνδιοργανώθηκε από την Πρεσβεία της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας της Κίνας στην Κύπρο και το Υφυπουργείο Πολιτισμού, ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία, σηματοδοτώντας μια σημαντική στιγμή για την ενίσχυση των πολιτιστικών σχέσεων μεταξύ των δύο χωρών.🇨🇳🇨🇾

Η διοργάνωση, που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του εορτασμού της Διεθνούς Ημέρας Διαλόγου μεταξύ των Πολιτισμών και της 55ης επετείου διπλωματικών σχέσεων Κύπρου–Κίνας, προσέφερε στο κοινό ένα πλούσιο πρόγραμμα και μια μοναδική ευκαιρία γνωριμίας με τη σύγχρονη κινεζική κινηματογραφία. 🎥🎞️

Η τελετή έναρξης πραγματοποιήθηκε σε ιδιαίτερα εορταστική ατμόσφαιρα, με χαιρετισμούς από τον Γενικό Διευθυντή του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού, κ. Γιώργο Γ. Παπαγεωργίου, τον Επιτετραμμένο a.i. της Πρεσβείας της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας της Κίνας στην Κύπρο, κ. Yunliang Zhou, και τον Ειδικό Αντιπρόσωπο του Γενικού Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών στην Κύπρο, κ. Khassim Diagne.

Η βραδιά ολοκληρώθηκε με την πανευρωπαϊκή πρεμιέρα του έργου Sound of Shanghai του Κύπριου καλλιτέχνη Μάριου Ιωάννου Ηλία, αναδεικνύοντας τη δύναμη της τέχνης να φέρνει τους πολιτισμούς σε δημιουργικό διάλογο.

Καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της εβδομάδας, μια σειρά προβολών ανέδειξε τον πλούτο και τη δυναμική της κινεζικής κινηματογραφίας, δημιουργώντας παράλληλα μια σημαντική πλατφόρμα πολιτιστικής ανταλλαγής μεταξύ δημιουργών, επαγγελματιών και κοινού.

✨Chinese Film Week in Cyprus successfully concludes.

The Chinese Film Week in Cyprus, co-organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cyprus and the Deputy Ministry of Culture, has successfully concluded, marking an important moment in the strengthening of cultural relations between the two countries.🇨🇾🇨🇳

Held in celebration of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations and the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cyprus and China, the Film Week offered audiences a rich programme and a unique opportunity to engage with contemporary Chinese cinema. 🎞️🎥

The opening ceremony took place in a particularly festive atmosphere, with addresses delivered by the Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, Mr George G. Papageorgiou , the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cyprus Chinese Embassy in Cyprus, Mr Yunliang Zhou, and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Cyprus, Mr Khassim Diagne.

The evening concluded with the pan-European premiere of Sound of Shanghai by Cypriot artist Marios Joannou Elia, highlighting the power of art to bring cultures into a creative dialogue.

Throughout the week, a series of screenings provided audiences with insight into the richness and diversity of Chinese cinema, while creating a platform for cultural exchange and engagement.

✨Συνάντηση Γενικού Διευθυντή Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού με τον Ύπατο Αρμοστή της Ινδίας στην Κύπρο.

Ο Γενικός Διευθυντής του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού, κ. Παπαγεωργίου, είχε συνάντηση με τον Ύπατο Αρμοστή της Ινδίας στην Κύπρο, κ. Manish, κατά την οποία συζητήθηκαν τρόποι υλοποίησης του πρόσφατα υπογραφέντος Μνημονίου Πολιτιστικής Συνεργασίας μεταξύ Κύπρου και Ινδίας🤝.

Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στον σχεδιασμό κοινών δράσεων και εκδηλώσεων ενόψει της επετείου των 65 ετών διπλωματικών σχέσεων των δύο χωρών, το 2027.

Στόχο αποτελεί η αξιοποίηση του πλούσιου καλλιτεχνικού δυναμικού των δύο χωρών, η ανάπτυξη ουσιαστικών συνεργασιών με προοπτική και η ανταλλαγή καλών πρακτικών σε ευρύ φάσμα πολιτιστικών θεμάτων.

✨Meeting between the Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus.

The Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, Mr George G. Papageorgiou , held a meeting with the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus India in Cyprus (High Commission of India, Nicosia), Mr Manish, during which ways to implement the recently signed Memorandum of Cultural Cooperation between Cyprus and India were discussed.

Particular emphasis was placed on the planning of joint initiatives and events in view of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, to be marked in 2027. 🤝

The aim is to harness the rich artistic potential of both countries, foster meaningful and forward-looking partnerships, and promote the exchange of best practices across a wide range of cultural fields.

📍Αναδρομική έκθεση του καλλιτέχνη Γεώργιου Πολ. Γεωργίου στο Λονδίνο!

🖼️Με μεγάλη επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκαν τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης «Γεώργιος Πολ. Γεωργίου: Κύπρος Παντοτινή» στο Ελληνικό Κέντρο του Λονδίνου.

➡️Η έκθεση διοργανώνεται το πλαίσιο του Πολιτιστικού Προγράμματος της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ 2026 Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 από το Υφυπουργείο Πολιτισμού και τη Λεβέντειο Πινακοθήκη.

💫Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης τέλεσε η Υφυπουργός Πολιτισμού Lina Kassianidou.

➡️Η έκθεση αναδεικνύει τη διαχρονική σχέση του Γεώργιου Πολ. Γεωργίου με την Κύπρο και προσφέρει μια νέα ματιά στην ιστορία και την τέχνη του νησιού. Τα έργα χαρακτηρίζονται από βαθιά ιστορική και συναισθηματική σημασία και συμβάλλουν στη διατήρηση της μνήμης και της πολιτιστικής μας ταυτότητας. Πολλά από αυτά είχαν μείνει στην κατεχόμενη Αμμόχωστο μετά την εισβολή και επιστράφηκαν πριν λίγα χρόνια στο πλαίσιο ΜΟΕ και παρουσιάζονται εκτός Κύπρου για πρώτη φορά.

🎭 Παράλληλα, υλοποιείται το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «Timeless Cyprus», προσεγγίζοντας χιλιάδες παιδιά της κυπριακής και ελληνικής διασποράς στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο🇬🇧

📍One of the most important international presentations of the works of Georgios Pol. Georghiou held in London!

🖼️ The opening of “Georgios Pol. Georghiou: Timeless Cyprus” took place at the Hellenic Centre in London, as part of the Cultural Programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 .

➡️The exhibition is organized by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Leventis Gallery.

💫The inauguration was held by the Deputy Minister of Culture .

➡️The exhibition demonstrates Georgios Pol. Georgiou's timeless relationship with the island and offers a renewed perspective on the artist’s vision of history and art in Cyprus. The works bear a strong historical and emotional significance and contribute to the preservation of the island's memory and cultural identity. Many of them were held in the occupied area of Ammochostos since the turkish invasion and were returned in the framework of the CBM and are presented abroad for the first time.

🎭 Alongside the exhibition, the educational programme “Timeless Cyprus” is taking place across the UK, reaching thousands of children from the Greek Cypriot and Greek diaspora

🔶️Η Υφυπουργός Πολιτισμού Lina Kassianidou συμμετείχε ως ομιλήτρια σε πάνελ με τη θεματική: «Open heritage: accessibility, innovation and the future of cultural institutions", που διοργανώθηκε στο πλαίσιο του New European Bauhaus Festival.Το Φεστιβάλ πραγματοποιείται κάθε δύο χρόνια.
✅️Το Νέο Ευρωπαϊκό Μπάουχαους είναι μια πρωτοβουλία της ΕΕ που συνδέει τη βιωσιμότητα, την ένταξη και τον πολιτισμό για να βελτιώσει τον τρόπο που ζούμε, εργαζόμαστε και βιώνουμε τους κοινόχρηστους χώρους μας.
🎤Η συζήτηση στο πάνελ εστίασε στον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι πολιτιστικοί φορείς και οι χώροι πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς μπορούν να ενισχύσουν τoν κοινωνικό αντικτυπό τους και την οικονομική ανθεκτικότητά τους.
📌Η Υφυπουργός συμμετείχε στο κατόπιν πρόσκλησης της Επιτρόπου Περιβάλλοντος, Ανθεκτικότητας των Υδάτων και Ανταγωνιστικής Κυκλικής Οικονομίας της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Jessika Roswall και στην ομιλία της αναφέρθηκε, μεταξύ άλλων, στη σημασία που αποδίδει η Κύπρος καθώς και σε συγκεκριμένες δράσεις στις οποιες προβαίνει, αναφορικά με την προσβασιμότητα στην πολιτιστική κληρονομιά την εφαρμογή της καινοτομίας και την αύξηση της κοινωνική συμμετοχικότητα στην πολιτιστική κληρονομιά.

Η κυπριακή δημιουργία στο προσκήνιο του design στην Κοπεγχάγη!

Η έκθεση «Crafting Nature» άνοιξε τις πόρτες της στην Κοπεγχάγη, στο ιστορικό Moltkes Palæ, στο πλαίσιο του 3daysofdesign 2026. Η έκθεση, που διοργανώνεται από το Υφυπουργείο Πολιτισμού και την Υπηρεσία Κυπριακής Χειροτεχνίας, αποτελεί μέρος του Πολιτιστικού Προγράμματος της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ 2026 Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026

Από τις 9 έως τις 25 Ιουνίου 2026, η Κύπρος παρουσιάζει τη σύγχρονη χειροτεχνική και εικαστική της δημιουργία μέσα από έργα που αντλούν έμπνευση από τη φύση και τα υλικά της: πηλό, πέτρα, ξύλο, γυαλί, μέταλλα και κλωστές.

Η έκθεση «Crafting Nature» αναδεικνύει τη σύγχρονη κυπριακή ταυτότητα στο design και τη χειροτεχνία, φέρνοντας σε διάλογο την παράδοση με τη σύγχρονη ευρωπαϊκή δημιουργική σκηνή.

Cypriot craft and visual creation at the forefront of design in Copenhagen!

The exhibition "Crafting Nature" opened its doors in Copenhagen, at the historic Moltkes Palæ, as part of the 3daysofdesign 2026. The exhibition, organized by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus Handicraft Service, is part of the Cultural Programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.

From 9 to 25 June 2026, Cyprus presents its contemporary craft and visual creation through works inspired by nature and its materials: clay, stone, wood, glass, metals and threads.

The exhibition "Crafting Nature" highlights the contemporary Cypriot identity in design and craftsmanship, bringing tradition into dialogue with the contemporary European creative field.

The Deputy Minister Lina Kassianidou inaugurated the exhibition "Crafting Nature" in Copenhagen, stressing the importance of highlighting and promoting the Cypriot creation in an international forum.

🔶️Η Κύπρος συναντά τον Picasso στη Βαρκελώνη!

➡️Με μεγάλη επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο Museu Picasso Barcelona τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης «Picasso and Cyprus: Encounters with the Ceramics of the Mediterranean», από την Υφυπουργό Πολιτισμού, Lina Kassianidou, στο πλαίσιο του Πολιτιστικού Προγράμματος της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ 2026.🇪🇺🇨🇾

💫Η έκθεση φέρνει σε δημιουργικό διάλογο τα κεραμικά έργα του Pablo Picasso με τις κυπριακές αρχαιότητες, αναδεικνύοντας τις κοινές καλλιτεχνικές αναζητήσεις και τις βαθιές πολιτισμικές συνδέσεις της Μεσογείου.

📌Στην τελετή παρέστησαν εκπρόσωποι της τοπικής κυβέρνησης της Καταλονίας, των δημοτικών αρχών της Βαρκελώνης, καθώς και προσκεκλημένοι από τον χώρο του πολιτισμού, της διπλωματίας και των τεχνών.

📌Η έκθεση, η οποία θα παραμείνει ανοικτή για το κοινό έως τις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου 2026, επιμελήθηκε από την Έφορο Αρχαιοτήτων του Τμήματος Αρχαιοτήτων, κα Ευτυχία Ζαχαρίου, τη Δρ Άντρη Μιχαήλ και τον Δρ Emmanuel Guigon.
