Το Cyprus Forum είναι μια ετήσια διάσκεψη μεγάλης εμβέλειας που λαμβάνει χώρα κάθε χρόνο το πρώτο Σαββατοκύριακο του Οκτώβρη, με το 2020 να τίθεται ως χρονιά-ορόσημο έναρξής της, με αφορμή τα 60 χρόνια από την ίδρυση της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας.

Το Cyprus Forum δουλεύει στενά με την κοινωνία των πολιτών, δημόσιους οργανισμούς, επιχειρήσεις, μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης και άλλους σημαντικούς παράγοντες, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στον ίδιο τον πολίτη.

Συνεργάζεται με ακαδημαϊκούς, πολιτικούς, επιχειρηματίες, ακτιβιστές και άλλους κορυφαίους εμπειρογνώμονες, τόσο στην Κύπρο όσο και διεθνώς, με σκοπό τη συζήτηση, ανταλλαγή και διαμόρφωση απόψεων σε καίρια θέματα που άπτονται της δημόσιας πολιτικής στην Κύπρο και διεθνώς.

Το forum επιχειρεί παράλληλα να ασκήσει θετική πίεση με σκοπό την επίτευξη των αναγκαίων μεταρρυθμίσεων που προκύπτουν από τις συζητήσεις, να επηρεάσει τις εθνικές και περιφερειακές ατζέντες και να προωθήσει βιώσιμες και κοινωνικά υπεύθυνες πολιτικές για την Κύπρο και την ευρύτερη περιοχή της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου.

El domingo 6 de octubre a las 20:30, formando parte del 15º Festival Internacional de Música Contemporánea Pharos, tendrá lugar en “The Shoe Factory” la actuación del cuarteto SIGMA Project.
SIGMA Project es más que un cuarteto de saxofones, es un vehículo imprescindible para la música instrumental del siglo XXI. Durante su gira internacional de 10º aniversario (2018) la Fundación BBVA reconoció la excelencia de SIGMA Project con la concesión de la prestigiosa beca Leonardo a Investigadores y Creadores Musicales.
Con base en Madrid desde su fundación, SIGMA Project, auténticos ‘Ardittis‘ del saxofón (así designados por la revista Scherzo), ha realizado más de 225 conciertos en auditorios y festivales de medio mundo: Estados Unidos, Jamaica, Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón), Bogotá (Teatro Mayor), México (Palacio de Bellas Artes), Chile (Auditorio GAM), Alemania, Francia, Escocia, Inglaterra, Italia, Polonia, Rumanía, Croacia, Túnez, incluyendo asimismo su propio circuito en España.
Para su debut en Chipre , SIGMA Project interpretará un programa único de obras de Iannis Xenakis, Salvatore Sciarrino, Mauricio Sotelo, Helga Arias, Jesús Torres y una pieza producida especialmente por el compositor chipriota afincado en Londres Effy Efthymiou. El próximo miércoles 25 de septiembre a las 21:00, se proyectará la película española 🇪🇸🎬 "20.000 SPECIES OF BEES" (2023) dirigida por Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren. La película será proyectada en el marco del "Q***r wave Festival 2024" en el Centro municipal de las Artes de Nicosia (NIMAC), con la colaboración de Embajada de España en Chipre - Embassy of Spain in Cyprus e Instituto Cervantes Nicosia.
