Αναφορικά με την αναχαίτιση μη επανδρωμένου drone στις Βρετανικές Βάσεις στην περιοχή Ακρωτηρίου του Δήμου Κουρίου, η Πολιτική Άμυνα ενημερώνει για τα ακόλουθα:
Η Υπηρεσία ενημερώθηκε για το συμβάν λίγο μετά τα μεσάνυχτα. Μέλη της Δύναμης κινητοποιήθηκαν άμεσα και περί τις 00:30 βρίσκονταν ήδη στην περιοχή. Σε συνεννόηση και συνεργασία με τον Δήμαρχο Κουρίου και τον Αντιδήμαρχο Ακρωτηρίου, καθώς και με τη Διοίκηση των Βρετανικών Βάσεων, οι ομάδες της Πολιτικής Άμυνας έλαβαν προληπτικά μέτρα για ενημέρωση του πληθυσμού για τη δυνατότητα να φιλοξενηθεί στον χώρο του ΚΕΝ Λεμεσού. Στο ΚΕΝ Λεμεσού βρίσκονται από την πρώτη στιγμή λειτουργοί και εθελοντές της Πολιτικής Άμυνας, ώστε να διευκολύνουν τους πολίτες που επιθυμούν να μεταβούν στον προσωρινό χώρο φιλοξενίας.
Επιπρόσθετα, ομάδες της Πολιτικής Άμυνας παραμένουν επιτόπου, για ενημέρωση των κατοίκων και συνδρομή στη μεταφορά των πολιτών που επιθυμούν σε προσωρινούς χώρους φιλοξενίας. Παράλληλα, γίνονται περιπολίες στην περιοχή για παροχή τυχόν βοήθειας σε κατοίκους, εφόσον χρειαστεί. Η Δύναμη Πολιτικής Άμυνας παραμένει σε συνεχή επικοινωνία και συντονισμό με τις Τοπικές Αρχές και με τη Διοίκηση των Βρετανικών Βάσεων, έτσι ώστε να συνδράμει τις προσπάθειες.

Regarding the interception of a drone at the British Bases in the Akrotiri area of the Kourion Municipality, the Civil Defence informs the public of the following:
Civil Defence was notified of the incident shortly after midnight. Members of Civil Defence were immediately mobilised and were already present in the area by approximately 00:30.
In coordination and cooperation with the Mayor of Kourion and the Deputy Mayor of Akrotiri, as well as with the Administration of the British Bases, Civil Defence teams took precautionary measures to inform the public about the possibility of being accommodated at the Limassol Reception and Hospitality Centre (KEN). From the very first moment, Civil Defence officers and volunteers have been stationed at the Limassol KEN to facilitate citizens who wish to move to the temporary accommodation site.
In addition, Civil Defence teams remain on site to inform residents and assist with the transfer of citizens who wish to relocate to temporary accommodation facilities. At the same time, patrols are being carried out in the area to provide any necessary assistance to residents, should the need arise.
The Civil Defence Force remains in continuous communication and coordination with the Local Authorities and the Administration of the British Bases in order to support ongoing efforts.
