U svrhu efikasnijeg rada na očuvanju NKN, Centar sprovodi edukativne programe i sarađuje s drugim ustanovama, udruženjima, organizacijama i pojedincima u zemlji i inostranstvu. The Centre for the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Serbia conducts research, cataloging, processing, documenting, presentation and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. It was inaugurated at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade on June 20, 2012. The Centre has based its activities upon the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), that has been ratified by The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in May 2010. The management of the National Inventory of the intangible cultural heritage and all the relevant documents in electronic, paper, video, and audio file formats constitutes one of the most important activities of The Centre for the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Serbia. Furthermore, the mission of the Centre is to provide professional assistance to local communities in identification, evaluation, practice, and transfer of their own cultural heritage to future generations. The goal of the Centre is better status achievement and inclusion of the intangible cultural heritage as an important resource within the project in the field of social and economic development. For the purpose of more effective work on safeguarding the ICH, the Centre conducts educational and training programs and collaborates with other institutions, associations, organizations, and individuals in Serbia and abroad. This page was created as a result of the project of the Center for the ICH of Serbia "Digitization of the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage and application of new information and communication technologies in the protection and promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage", which was supported by the UNESCO Participation Program for 2015. The goals of this project were, in addition to the creation of a new database of the ICH National Register, to launch a new web site for presentation of the ICH (www.nkns.rs), as well as the page.
